Melania Trump looked smart wearing a checked blazer as she attended the PTA conference yesterday. She went to the event in Virginia to speak to parents and teachers about her Be Best campaign. The First Lady later attended a Presidential Medal of Freedom ceremony for retired General Jack Keane where she was joined by US President Donald Trump, 73.

Melania Trump recycles bespoke look for Summit in Washington, DC
While at the PTA conference, Melania made a speech about to nearly 300 parents and former teachers.
She focused on her Be Best campaign which focuses on the well-being of children.
Melania said: “When I launched the Be Best Initiative, my first goal was to raise awareness of three primary issues that children face today – social-emotional health, opioid abuse, and online safety.
“My second goal was to shed light on programs and people across the country and around the globe that successfully combat these problems.”
Although 600 schools have now closed in America due to coronavirus fears, the US First Lady did not mention this in her speech.
She shared a selection of pictures online from the event.
The caption read: “It was an honor to speak at the @NationalPTA #PTALegCon today.
“Our country is blessed to have hardworking parents & teachers who dedicate their lives to ensure that our nation’s youth have caring guidance for a prosperous future! #BeBest”
After the event in Virginia, Melania returned to the White House where she attended a Presidential Medal of Freedom ceremony for Jack Keane.
Throughout the day, she stayed looking smart in the fitted checked blazer and chinos outfit.
The double breasted design had mahogany buttons down the front and cream and brown checks.
She showed off her model figure with a thick brown belt which had an oversized buckle.

On May 7 2018, Melania launched her flagship campaign as First Lady, BE BEST, which The White House describes as “an awareness campaign focused entirely around the well-being of children”.
There are three main strands to the initiative: well-being, social media, and opioid abuse.
