Melania Trump shows off model figure in checked blazer amid US coronavirus fears

Melania Trump looked smart wearing a checked blazer as she attended the PTA conference yesterday. She went to the event in Virginia to speak to parents and teachers about her Be Best campaign. The First Lady later attended a Presidential Medal of Freedom ceremony for retired General Jack Keane where she was joined by US President Donald Trump, 73.

While at the PTA conference, Melania made a speech about to nearly 300 parents and former teachers.

She focused on her Be Best campaign which focuses on the well-being of children.

Melania said: “When I launched the Be Best Initiative, my first goal was to raise awareness of three primary issues that children face today – social-emotional health, opioid abuse, and online safety.

“My second goal was to shed light on programs and people across the country and around the globe that successfully combat these problems.”

Although 600 schools have now closed in America due to coronavirus fears, the US First Lady did not mention this in her speech.

She shared a selection of pictures online from the event.

The caption read: “It was an honor to speak at the @NationalPTA #PTALegCon today.

“Our country is blessed to have hardworking parents & teachers who dedicate their lives to ensure that our nation’s youth have caring guidance for a prosperous future! #BeBest”

After the event in Virginia, Melania returned to the White House where she attended a Presidential Medal of Freedom ceremony for Jack Keane.

Throughout the day, she stayed looking smart in the fitted checked blazer and chinos outfit.

The double breasted design had mahogany buttons down the front and cream and brown checks.

She showed off her model figure with a thick brown belt which had an oversized buckle.

Melania showed off her minimal style by pairing this with tan fitted trousers.

The light brown chinos appeared to be the ones she first debuted in Kenya in 2018.

She finished the look with a pair of pointed-toe snakeskin pumps.

Her highlighted brown hair was down and styled with a slight wave through it.

Melania chose her signature glamorous make-up look and wore dark eyeshadow and lashings of mascara.

She wore a slick of bronzer and light brown lipstick.

Last week, Melania looked chic in a bespoke denim fit and flare dress.

The midi dress had long sleeves and was pulled in at the waist by a matching belt.

Mum-of-one Melania can speak more languages than any other First Lady before her: English, French, German, Italian, Serbian and of course her mother tongue, Slovenian.

This also makes her the only First Lady whose first language is not English.

She met Pope Francis as part of a foreign tour with her husband and stepdaughter Ivanka last year.

Family

Melania’s parents are Amalija Knavs and Viktor Knavs, and the couple live together in Washington.

She has one sister, Ines, who is reported to live in New York and work as an artist.

Charity

On May 7 2018, Melania launched her flagship campaign as First Lady, BE BEST, which The White House describes as “an awareness campaign focused entirely around the well-being of children”.

There are three main strands to the initiative: well-being, social media, and opioid abuse.
