Bethenny Frankel donating 250K coronavirus masks to NYC hospitals

Bethenny Frankel is trying to help the coronavirus mask shortage in New York City.

The former “Real Housewives of New York City” star, 49, tweeted late Sunday that she needed Mayor Bill de Blasio to direct message her on the social medium to discuss distributing hundreds of thousands of N95 masks to New York City hospitals.

“I need @NYCMayor to contact me please on DM here because #bstrong is going to allocate another 250k in N95 masks to be distributed to various NYC hospitals, the epicenter of this crisis,” she wrote, referring to her philanthropy organization, BStrong. “Please contact me to divide appropriately.”

It appears that Hizzoner and Gov. Andrew Cuomo responded to the Skinnygirl founder. Frankel tweeted thank you messages to both politicians about half-an-hour later.

“Thanks @NYGovCuomo office for reaching out to me to allocate these masks. Xoxo #bstrong #ThisIsACrisis,” she wrote, shortly thereafter adding, “Thanks to @NYCMayor for an immediate response to help NYC health care workers.”

Followers were confused as to how the former Bravolebrity was able to procure the highly needed masks as hospitals continue to struggle with the shortage.

Frankel, referencing a fan’s message on Twitter, responded, “I think I’ll do an Instagram live soon & explain it all. Like most relationships, it’s complicated. Bureaucracy takes time. But the local gov’t is really working with us & asking for & accepting help.”

Frankel later further explained writing, “CLARIFICATION: in addition to us raising $ & donating masks to US, hospitals & clinics can contact us to place mask orders for you. People have been gouging & marking these up. We’re manufacturing them straight to YOU. Gov’ts are already partnering with us. Make sense?”
