Britney Spears husband breaks silence on her social media break

Britney Spears' husband Sam Asghari has revealed why the pop singer has taken a step back from social media after fans became concerned with her lack of activity.

The model, who Britney married this year, has spoken about her decision and how he must “respect her privacy” too.

Posting to his Instagram story, the 28 year old wrote: “Social media can be traumatizing. Sometimes it's good to take a break. She has her voice and is a free woman. I have respect for her privacy and I protect it at all times. Thank you to all of her protective fans.

“Out of respect for her privacy I don't post her 24/7. I ask for permission if I ever do.”

“For my job I have to attend many events. It would be my honor if she joins. For her those things are not fun. They're hictic and full of stress. Specially, since she's been doing these things since 8 years old. Plus she already slayed every single one she has been to,” he added.

“I've always respected and supported her privacy with everything I've had. I ask of you supportive and protective fans to do the same.

“Sometimes being over protective can cause more stress and damage.”

Since her conservatorship ended last year, Britney has been very active on social media and often posts numerous times a day, whether that be of her dancing or touching tributes to her kids.

But as of late, the Toxic singer has reduced her social activity, with her most recent Instagram post being almost a week ago.

Similarly, the 41 year old last posted on TikTok a week ago when she revealed that she’d “married” herself, but don’t worry, she’s “still married to hubby too.”

Fans flagged their concerns on social media, with one penning: "Okay I’m on Britney Spears TikTok somehow and I’m legit having full anxiety over the fact that her instagram is gone and we don’t know where she is and all these fake videos LIKE WHAT IS GOING ON."

"CAN WE TALK ABOUT HOW THERE IS NO WAY IN HELL BRITNEY IS RUNNING HER INSTAGRAM ANYMORE #freebritney,” another wrote, while a third added, "You know how leah remini essentially became an investigator to uncover all the truths about scientology? we need someone to do this for britney spears, bc her instagram account is beyond alarming. someone’s gotta get in & investigate where she is, if she’s OK, & what is going AWN."

Earlier this week, Britney’s friend, Julianne Kaye, said the singer had lost the bright star in her eye during the court hearings where she sought to regain control of her life.

The two first met when Julianne, who was 23 at the time, was working as a stylist with Britney on her tours around Europe and Asia.

Speaking exclusively to The Mirror, Julianne explained: "[Britney] was a star, a huge star."

She continued: "During the conservatorship, that light that shined so brightly was gone.

"You could see it in her eyes. If you knew her, you saw something was just so wrong.

"Britney was my friend before she was my client. I mean in the sense of friendship over work. So, I really cared very deeply about her and I still do."
