John Prine’s Final Song Used For Tribute To Covid-19 Victims At DNC

The late John Prine‘s song “I Remember Everything” was used to underscore a tribute video for the victims of the ongoing novel coronavirus pandemic at the 2020 Democratic National Convention on Monday, August 17.

On the first night of the virtual DNC, a video was shown in tribute to people who died due to the coronavirus. The in memoriam clip featured the last-recorded song from Prine. The legend was hospitalized in late March with coronavirus symptoms and died on April 7.

“I’ve been down this road before, I remember every tree / Every single blade of grass holds a special place for me,” Prine sings.
“And I remember every town, every hotel room / Every song I ever sang on a guitar out of tune.”

“This is hard news for us to share,” his family wrote at the time of Prine’s death. “But so many of you have loved and supported John over the years, we wanted to let you know, and give you the chance to send on more of that love and support now,” the statement continued.
“And know that we love you, and John loves you.”
