Kate Moss on bizarre moment Johnny Depp pulled diamonds out of his bum for her

Iconic supermodel Kate Moss has recalled the first time her ex-boyfriend Johnny Depp ever gave her diamonds, cheekily revealing that he pulled them "out of his bum" for her.

Kate is appearing in the September 2022 issue of British Vogue – the fashion bible that made her a household name in the 90s – as she went through some of her looks over the years, as well as sharing some entertaining anecdotes.

Supermodel Kate, now 48, and successful actor Johnny Depp, now 59, were the ultimate 'IT' couple back in their heyday, when they dated from 1994 to 1998.

Of the first time Johnny ever gave her diamonds, Kate said: “And that diamond necklace Johnny gave me, they were the first diamonds I ever owned.

"He pulled them out of the crack of his a*se.

"We were going out to dinner and he said, ‘I’ve got something in my bum, can you have a look,’ and I was like, ‘what’ and I put my hand down his trousers and I pulled out a diamond necklace. That diamond necklace.”

Kate and Johnny were reportedly introduced at Cafe Tabac bar and restaurant in New York when Johnny was 31 and Kate was just 20 years old.

They were huge faces on the 90s party scene, often seen alongside the likes of Sadie Frost, Jude Law and Kate's fellow supermodel Naomi Campbell.

They split in 1998, and Kate has since said that there is no bad blood between the pair, telling Vanity Fair in 2012: “There’s nobody that’s ever really been able to take care of me. Johnny did for a bit.

“I believed what he said. Like if I said, ‘What do I do?,’ he’d tell me."

Kate and Johnny's relationship was recently thrown back into the spotlight, as Kate was called to testify in defence of her old boyfriend, during his blockbuster defamation trial with his ex-wife Amber Heard, earlier this year.

Kate testified in defence of Johnny after the Aquaman actress mentioned a rumour that Kate was pushed down the stairs by Johnny while the two were in a relationship.

Kate testified during the trial in May 2022, appearing in the Virginia courtroom via video link.

During her evidence, which lasted little more than two minutes, the model said Johnny had not “pushed, kicked or threw me” down any stairs while they were together.

She told the court: "We were leaving the room and Johnny left the room before I did.

"There had been a rainstorm and as I left the room I slid down the stairs. I hurt my back. And I screamed because I didn't know what had happened.”

She said Depp came running back to help her and "carried me to my room and got me medical attention”.

When Kate was asked if Depp ever pushed her down the stairs, she replied no.

Kate said: "He never pushed me, kicked me or threw me down any stairs.”
