They wrote: "You're the most repulsive and ugliest thing I've ever seen why even bother with make-up."
Katie, who has done much activism and charity work to raise awareness of acid attack victims, shared the post on her Instagram Stories to her 980k followers to show the reality of the abuse suffered by those that are different.
She wrote: "I've posted this message from my inbox to show you all the work and conversations around diversity and inclusion, the everyday reality for anyone who is in the minority category…
"The everyday existence is very different to the positivity campaigns. More work needs to be done.”

The mum of two has had near to 400 procedures to rectify the damage caused by her attack in 2008 and returned to hospital just last week for an operation on her eye.
Her representative told The Mail Online: “Katie is nearing her 400th operation now but she is being as brave as ever whilst in hospital for her current procedure.
“The eye is healing well, and Katie remains positive about the future and cannot thank the incredible eye surgeon and team enough for their work for their ongoing restoration and preservation of her sight in her 'good eye'."
Recently Katie took part in the viral social media challenge of “how it started vs how it’s going”, which shows how far someone has come in their career or life.
Katie shared photos of herself in hospital with bandages covering her face while she’s attacked to several machines in bed following the devastating incident.
In the second photo, showing how far she’s come since then, Katie shared a snap of herself in a Pantene modelling campaign outside London’s Westfield shopping centre.
The post was flooded with praising comments by fans. One wrote: "What an inspiration you are.”
While another added: “Wow… What an amazingly beautiful lady….Turned that enormous negative into the biggest positive. We don't have to know you personally to be proud of you.”
A third commented: “That post has given me goosebumps – what a beautiful inspirational lady you are. How proud you and your family must be of your determination and passion for life.”
