Lauren Goodger confirmed her relationship with builder Charles Drury this month – showering her Instagram with loved-up snaps of the pair.
But while many fans were thrilled that the former TOWIE star, 34, has found happiness again, some were concerned by the couple’s 11-year age gap and the fact that Charles was previously linked to Katie Price.
One fan wrote, “Oh dear, he’s definitely fame seeking,” while another added, “This guy is not in it for the long term – why can’t she see it? She needs an older, mature guy who will change her perspective on life and help her grow.”
Relationship expert Jo Hemmings told new magazine she thinks Lauren – who said last year that she was eager to settle down and start a family – appears to be pushing the self-destruct button.

“Lauren wants to settle down and has made it clear multiple times that she’s ready to get married and start a family, but I think when she gets anxious or feels she’s not going to find someone, she goes for the typical bad boy and often the younger guy,” Jo explained.
“In my opinion it’s destructive and the opposite of what she needs.”
Charles, 23, became a hot topic last year after his fling with Katie. Following their split, he made scathing remarks about the mum-of-five, rating their sex 1/10 after reportedly sleeping with her on their first date.
“Charles is not only young, but has a reputation for dating reality stars and selling his story, which shows he’s quite keen on fame,” Jo warned.
Lauren has endured a turbulent love life in the spotlight. She had an on-off 10-year relationship with Mark Wright – who is now married to Michelle Keegan – before splitting up in 2011 and calling off their short-lived engagement.

She then insisted she’d found her future husband when she started dating Jake McLean, who was three years her junior, in 2012, but described their romance as “toxic” when they split four years later.
She again thought she’d found The One when she started dating Joey Morrisson, who was in prison throughout their relationship. But when they separated in 2018 Lauren called it her “biggest regret”.
“If Lauren wants to settle down and find someone special she needs to stay focused on her dream of marriage and kids and not settle until she finds the right person,” Jo advised.
“Otherwise she’ll end up with a series of flings like Charles and will feel like she’s wasted her time when they come to an end.”
