Music mogul Simon Cowell has revealed that he “dreads” the possibility of his son Eric being bullied.

The Britain’s Got Talent boss has six-year-old Eric with his partner Lauren Silverman, and last year in an interview with The Mail on Sunday, which has since resurfaced, opened up on his worries for his son.

The 60 year old star admitted that he was planning on calling his little boy Eric Simon, but thought better of it as it might not have gone down to well in the playground.

He said: “I do think we made the right call. It would have been too much to inflict Simon on him. And him getting bullied is what I dread most."

The owner of the Syco label then continued: "There are two things that worry me about him growing up. One is stress. Children are under so much stress – with homework, pressure.

"I really don't want that for him. The second thing is bullying. It terrifies me. If there's even a whiff of it, I don't think I could handle it."

The media personality then went on to explain that little Eric already believes he has the same work ethic as his multimillionaire father because he has previously accompanied his dad to the office.

Simon revealed: "He said: 'What do you mean? I already have a job. I come to the studio don't I?' I had to point out to him that there's more to what I do than just pitching up."

However, father and son have already worked together, landing roles in SCOOB! – the first ever Scooby-Doo film.

Naturally, Simon plays himself, whereas Eric has the part of Ben, who is a young tourist visiting Athens.

Speaking of having been colleagues with his offspring, Simon said: “Oh, it’s a nightmare working with Eric. He’s so competitive.
