Slipknot Postpone Asia Tour Due To Coronavirus Concerns
Slipknot have postponed their March tour dates in Asia over coronavirus concerns.
The band was scheduled to perform at the two-day Knotfest Japan on March 20 and 21 in Chiba, just outside Tokyo.
Slipknot were also slated to play Singapore Rock Fest, the Hammersonic Festival and at Amoranto Stadium in March.
“In light of global health concerns, SLIPKNOT have decided to postpone their upcoming Asian tour, including Knotfest Japan,” the heavy metal band said in a statement on social media.
“While decisions like this are not easy, the safety and well-being of the band’s fans always comes first. Furthermore in this case, the bands and artists, crew and local employees are also equally effected, and as such, this was the only responsible decision that could be made,” the band added.
“We are working with Slipknot and their management team on the new dates and will provide updates and announcements on the Knotfest Japan website and socials as details are confirmed,” Knotfest Japan said in a statement.
The organizers have offered fans both the option to keep their tickets and use them at the rescheduled dates or seek a refund.
