Susanna Reid wanted to give off ‘masculine’ vibe when first on telly

Susanna Reid has said she wanted to have a "masculine air" about her when she started out in her television career 20 years ago.

The Good Morning Britain favourite has revealed she really focused on damning her femininity when she first began presenting news bulletins.

The 49-year-old morning telly favourite confessed she was not very comfortable with herself during her early TV career, and wished she could look like Patsy Kensit , her "absolute idol".

In a candid interview with Fabulous magazine, Susanna admitted: “One of the things I really noticed about looking back at myself on TV 20 years ago, is that I wasn't very comfortable with me.”

"Finally, approaching 50, I've realised I'm never going to look like Patsy Kensit!" she said.

"That's kind of what you had to do."
