Hollywood actress Kate Beckinsale has opened up about being kept away from her daughter Lily Sheen as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.
The Underworld star, 47, called the heartbreaking absence "preposterous" when she appeared on US talk show, Live With Kelly and Ryan.
Kate, who used to date Saturday Night Live star Pete Davidson, shared: "I haven't seen my daughter for two years because of everything. Also, I went to Canada working and she couldn't come see me.
"Two years of not seeing your child is, to me, the most preposterous thought, it is ridic."

Lily, whose father is actor Michael Sheen, lives in New York, while her mum Kate lives in Essex when not in the US for work projects.
Kate shared she's happy that modern technology has helped bridge the gap for mother and daughter, but she shared they're both worried they'll look much older in person when they next see each other again.
She continued: "Thank goodness for FaceTime and all that, but we're both panicking that we'll look really old to each other.
"My daughter is 22 but looks eight! So she's like, 'I'm just worried that you're going to think I look old' but 'I'm going to look old'."
Lily's dad Michael, 52, resides in Port Talbot, Wales with 26-year-old girlfriend Anna Lundberg.
The pair share a 22-month-old daughter called Lyra.
Kate and Michael, who remain good friends, were in a relationship from 1995 until 2003, but the pair never married.
Most recently, Kate has dated musician Goody Grace, 24, and comedian Pete Davidson, 27, following her split from husband Len Wiseman in 2016.
Kate recently admitted she's never been on a proper date before. Speaking to Extra, the actress shared: "Do you know I've never really been on a date?
"I literally meet someone, get to know them at work, and then either marry them or get pregnant by them."
