Glenn Close stole the show at the 2021 Oscars after she twerked to Dat Butt live.
Despite missing out on an Oscar for the eighth time the 74-year-old actress was in high spirits, so much so that she took to shaking her derriere during a segment about Oscar nominated songs.
The incident occurred when Lil Rel Howery asked the actress if she recognised the track being played by DJ Questlove.
To the delight of the A-listers around Glenn immediately knew both the song and the film it was nominated for, Spike Lee’s School Daze.
She leapt out of her chair to give the crowd a show, twerking along to the Da Butt challenge.
She wore a sparkling blue Indian style salwar kameez, covered in sequins and ensured all eyes were on her as she danced in a pair of matching blue gloves.
The room erupted in laughter and fans went into hysterics on social media.
One fan went: “Glenn Close gave a history lesson, cussed the Oscars out for not nominating Da Butt and then did it. Icon “

Another tweeted: ”I am deceased, because Glenn Close just killed me. Just bury me somewhere nice, y’all…”
“Glenn Close shaking her wagon at the Oscars is *THE* official summer 2021 mood,” said a third.
Others called for Glenn to win an Oscar just for her dancing, with Matthew A. Cherry who won last year’s Oscar for Best Animated Short Film tweeting: “Give Glenn Close an Oscar for that pls.”

The actress failed to take home the trophy yet again giving her the record for the actress most nominations with no wins, tied with actor Peter O’Toole.
She was previously nominated for her roles The World According to Garp in 1983, The Big Chill in 1984, The Natural in 1985, Fatal Attraction in 1988, Dangerous Liaisons in 1989, Albert Nobbs in 2012 and The Wife in 2019.
This year she was nominated for her role in Hillbilly Elegy despite the film itself being critically panned.
