    GOOD AFTERNOON

Welcome to our live blog of the Premier League clash between Liverpool and Aston Villa.

Steven Gerrard returns to Anfield for the first time as a manager and will take up his place in the opposition dugout.

Gerrard though is not scared of ruffling a few feathers at his old club.

In the build-up to the game, he said: “If I'm on the bus heading back down the M6 towards Birmingham and I'm not the most popular at Anfield, so be it.”

Liverpool could go top of the league today with three points, depending on whether Manchester City drop points against Wolves.

Villa meanwhile are seeking a fourth win in five games under new boss Gerrard.

Jurgen Klopp could be without forward Diogo Jota for the clash, but Divock Origi is fit to play if called upon.

Gerrard has Danny Ings and Matt Targett both back and available after the pair missed the win over Leicester at the weekend.

Kick off for this one is 3pm, with full team news coming up in half an hour.

You won’t want to miss it!
