Meghan Markle’s BFF and makeup artist has flown into London ahead of the royal’s appearance at the Endeavour Awards tonight.

Daniel Martin, from New York, shared an Instagram story yesterday showing he was relaxing in the business class section a plane, revealing he was travelling from the states to London.

Meghan, 38, is set to join her husband Prince Harry, 35, at the annual awards tonight as she make her first official public appearance in Britain following the Megxit crisis and prepares to step down as a senior royal.

Daniel has often joined the Duchess at key moments in her royal life, including her wedding and baby shower, as well as around the time of Archie’s christening, sparking rumours he was one of the baby’s secret godparents.

Daniel shared the black and white travelling snap of the business-class cabin to his 137,000 followers on Instagram yesterday.

He revealed he was reading the latest Business Traveller magazine, which included a feature on ‘Waking up in London.’

As well as a cartoon plane, he shared he was travelling from New York’s JFK airport and also cheekily posted: ‘Smell ya later’.

Daniel is believed to have known Meghan for over a decade, having met her while the former actress worked on Suits.

The makeup artist shared a snap on his Instagram stories revealing he was flying with New York to London

He has remained in contact with the Duchess throughout her life in the royal family and has often seen her over the last year.

Daniel was by Meghan’s side on her wedding day as he perfected her make-up and attended her famous baby shower in New York last February alongside celebrities like Gayle King and Serena Williams.

He was one of the first to visit the Duke and Duchess of Sussex when they moved into Frogmore Cottage shortly before Archie’s birth.

And the makeup artist sparked rumours he could be one of Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor’s secret godparents when he shared pictures from London in the days after the baby’s christening.

Daniel has been by the royal’s side at several key moments in her life, including her wedding and New York baby shower

The royal also surprised Daniel in New York for his birthday last September, with the makeup artist revealing the news by sharing a snap on Instagram of a plate of cupcakes.

The accompanying message was yet another indication of the closeness of their friendship, with the make-up artist referring to the Duchess of Sussex by her nickname, ‘Meg’.

Meghan is set to join her husband Prince Harry at the annual Endeavour Fund Awards at Mansion House in London this evening before they end their official duties on March 31.

Last autumn, American ex-actress Meghan opened up about her struggles with royal life in an ITV documentary filmed on their Africa tour.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are set to make their first joint appearance together tonight since announcing they’re stepping back as senior royals. They have been living in Canada with their son Archie since November (pictured together in South Africa in September)

She said she had tried to cope with the pressures by putting on a ‘stiff upper lip’ but she was not prepared for the intensity of tabloid interest.

Meghan was last seen with Prince Harry on an official engagement on January 7 when they visited Canada House in London to thank the nation for hosting them during their festive break in the Commonwealth country.

The following day, sixth in line Harry and former Suits star Meghan plunged the royal family into a period of turmoil when they announced they wanted to step back as senior royals and become financially independent – a move dubbed Megxit by the press.

It was eventually announced they would give up royal duties, split their time between Canada and the UK, with the majority spent in North America, no longer be known as HRHs, and their lives as working royals would end on March 31.
