Mother cures twin boys' eczema with £5 'magic' moisturiser cure

Mother whose twin 11-month-old boys suffered from painful eczema reveals how she soothed the condition ‘instantly’ with a £5 baby moisturiser

  •  Charlotte Moreton, 28, from York, had twins Tommy and Conan at just 25 weeks
  •  The twins needed breathing apparatus which irritated both boys’ skin condition
  •  Mother resorted to layering their clothing to stop children hurting themselves
  • After consulting various GPs and trying prescription cream found ‘amazing’ cure

A mother whose prematurely born twin boys scratched so hard at their eczema their skin bled, has shared her relief after discovering a ‘magic’ moisturiser cure for just £5.

Charlotte Moreton, 28, from York, gave birth to her twins Tommy and Conan, now 11-months-old, at  just 25 weeks, and the twins spent 137 days in hospital, undergoing three operations.

The newborns had to be sent home with breathing tubes to ensure their oxygen levels stayed safe, but the apparatus irritated the boys’ skin.

They would scratch at their sore flare ups – to the point where Charlotte had to layer their clothing to stop them hurting themselves.

After months of trying various over the counter remedies and prescribed steroid creams to no avail, the desperate mum ordered a trial of Bloom and Blossom’s The Very Hungry Caterpillar Moisturiser and was elated to see results ‘instantly’.

‘The difference the moisturiser has made to both boys has been amazing’, said Charlotte.

‘We saw results on Tommy’s skin pretty much instantly. Conan’s skin was always worse out of the two of them so his did take longer to clear up but it was only a matter of weeks.

‘The cream really has been our magic formula – even the medical products that the doctors prescribed just didn’t work.

‘At one point, both boys were scratching at their skin so much it would bleed, they were constantly trying to get at it.Now they just don’t bother at all, they are much happier, more content little boys.’

When Charlotte’s waters broke early, the boys faced an uphill battle to develop their tiny lungs so they could breathe independently.

But after nearly five months in hospital, Charlotte and her personal trainer husband, Jason, 28, were determined to try and crack the code over their sons’ eczema themselves.

Despite trying various creams and even consulting their GP, nothing was working – until the couple made a last ditch attempt to help the twins with Bloom and Blossom.

Charlotte said: ‘We had just been through a five month stint at the hospital helping them to breathe.

‘So when we got home and their skin started flaring up, it didn’t seem like it should be the top thing on their doctors’ priority list and I just thought it would be something I could cure myself.

‘When everything we tried just didn’t work I got really down about it, I felt like I should be able to help them and make them comfortable.

‘Jason had heard about the Bloom and Blossom moisturiser so it was the next thing to try on our list but then I saw a free trial pop up on Facebook so it was like it was meant to be.

‘Now we use it to give them a massage before bed which helps settled them so much quicker.

‘I’ve been telling other parents about it already, I’d recommend any parent struggling to help their children’s eczema gives it a go.’

Christina Moss and Julia Yule, co-founders of Bloom and Blossom, said: ‘We make natural skincare and wellness products to help families thrive.

‘We pack them full of real ingredients, to solve real problems and hope Charlotte sharing her story about Tommy and Conan will help others suffering with similar problems.

‘Knowing our moisturiser has helped soothe her twin’s skin and also helped calm them before bed, so the whole family can get a good night’s sleep, really feeds into the reason why we started Bloom and Blossom in the first place.’
