My son was killed three months ago and now I have no interest in life – The Sun

DEAR DEIDRE: A ROW with a stranger in a pub three months ago escalated into my son being stabbed to death.

He was only 31 and had been married for just a year.

Every day is torture for me as I relive his final few hours.

I know I’m withdrawing from everyone and everything. I’m 58 and have no interest in life any more.

My family have rallied round. They are also hurting but they seem to be getting on with their lives.

I seem to go from anger to heartbreak to numbness. I can’t see a way to break this cycle.

DEIDRE SAYS: I am sorry. The tragic death of a child, even when adult, is always especially painful. Your grief is still very raw.

You can find help at SAMM – Support After Murder and Manslaughter (samm.org.uk, 0121 472 2912).

They can offer free trauma counselling with expert therapists.

My e-leaflet Coping With Bereavement will help too.
