Premier League 2022/23: The season so far
In the first half of this season, Liverpool, Bournemouth, Southampton, West Ham United, Nottingham Forest, Chelsea, and Leicester City struggled. Man City and Arsenal went in the opposite direction with a solid start. Liverpool rebounded and are battling for a top four spot while Chelsea’s disappointing season continues, as they are 11th in the league table.

While currently out of the top four Aston Villa, Liverpool, Tottenham, Brighton, Brentford, and Fulham all have outside shots to finish up there and claim a Champions League spot.
Leicester, Leeds, and Southampton currently make up the bottom three and are desperately fighting against relegation to the Championship. Ahead of them Nottingham Forest, Everton, Bournemouth and West Ham are looking over their shoulders.
Man City’s Erling Haaland also broke a big record as he scored his 35th goal against West Ham, overtaking the previous record of 32 goals by Mohamed Salah and making him the overall top scorer of the 38-game season. Alan Shearer and Andrew Cole each scored 34 goals in a season but that was when there were 42 matches.
