This weekend Brits will be enjoying a three-day weekend, with Monday, May 31 a bank holiday across the UK nations. Many of us will still need to pop to the shops at some point, so read on to find out what time Sainsbury’s opens this bank holiday.

What time does Sainsbury’s open this bank holiday Monday?

Most Sainsbury’s stores will operate their usual opening hours for Saturday, May 29 and Sunday, May 30.

However, people should be aware their local Sainsbury’s may operate on different opening hours on Monday, May 31.

On this date, many Sainsbury’s will operate on “seasonal” opening hours.

This means stores may open later and close sooner than usual.

There isn’t a uniform time Sainsbury’s stores will open and close on bank holiday Monday.

So before heading out, its worth checking your local store’s opening hours via the Sainsbury’s store locator here.

Opening hours may differ depending on the size of the Sainsbury’s store.

What are the rules for shopping at Sainsbury’s?

At the moment, a number of safety measures are in place in Sainsbury’s stores due to COVID-19.

Shoppers are asked to wear a mask or a visor when in store, unless they have a medical exemption which means they don’t have to wear one.

People are also asked to visit Sainsbury’s stores on their own rather than in groups.

So people may find they need to join a queue to get into Sainsbury’s stores at busy times.

Elderly and vulnerable customers, along with NHS and care workers with an NHS ID, will get priority access to Sainsbury’s stores.

Due to the situation, more home delivery slots are also available for people who wish to shop online.

What offers are on at Sainsbury’s this weekend?

There are a number of offers on food and drink at Sainsbury’s presently.

But for those looking to buy some alcohol for the bank holiday, Sainsbury’s is running an offer from May 26 until May 31.
