Slow cooker hack makes melt-in-the-mouth pulled pork with just three ingredients

A Facebook cooking page has shared a recipe for melt-in-the-mouth pulled pork and we can’t wait to try it.

We don't know about you, but there's something both decadent, and impressive, about pulled pork while it also feels like a comforting family-style dish.

This super simple recipe was posted to the Slow Cooking Dreams UK page to rave reviews.

The poster captioned the post: “Pulled pork, yum, yum, yum!”

Then they gave the details of the recipe, which takes about five minuted to prepare.

Try out their recipe below – and you can always customise it if you prefer to use more spices.

Slow Cooker Pulled Pork

Ingredients:

  • Pork joint – they used a forequarter roast joint
  • One cup of honey
  • One bottle of BBQ sauce

Method:

  • Add all of the ingredients to the slow cooker and mix them up.
  • Cook the contents on low for eight hours.
  • Tear apart the pork with a pair of forks

This easy dish would be great for throwing into the slow cooker before a long working day.

To improve the recipe, we’d suggest salting the pork for 30 minutes before brushing the salt off and putting the joint in the cooker drum.

We’d also add some fresh, minced garlic, onion powder, Old Bay seasoning, paprika and a spoon of wholegrain mustard – but that’s up to you.

If you don't eat honey, then try replacing it with maple or golden syrup or even pineapple chunks.

The poster said never to cook meat from frozen, so ensure your joint is defrosted first.

They served it up in a bread bun with coleslaw, but you could also serve it with mac n cheese, collard greens, pickles and cornbread or any other Southern US style dishes.
