UFO enthusiasts scramble over declassified Pentagon footage

The Pentagon has sent UFO enthusiasts into a tailspin after it decided to declassify mysterious video footage showing an encounter with a flying object.

Three videos shot by US Navy pilots show what is described as ‘unidentified aerial phenomena.’

Navy officials previously acknowledged the videos last September and they were published by a private company before they were officially released by the Pentagon.

Pentagon spokesperson Sue Gough said the reason the videos have been officially released is ‘in order to clear up any misconceptions by the public on whether or not the footage that has been circulating was real, or whether or not there is more to the videos.’

Naturally, the decision to make this footage official has sparked a wave of chatter online about the nature of the objects.

The group was co-founded by Blink 182 singer Tom DeLonge, who claimed the clips went through a ‘declassification review process’ and were approved for release.

One of the videos was from 2004, while the other two were recorded in 2015 and featured audio from US fighter pilots expressing disbelief at what they were seeing.

One of the pilots, David Fravor, who saw the strange flying objects in 2004 opened up about the encounter in 2017:

‘As I got close to it… it rapidly accelerated to the south, and disappeared in less than two seconds,’ Fravor told CNN.

‘This was extremely abrupt, like a ping pong ball, bouncing a wall. It would hit and go the other way.’

Last year, a letter sent from Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid to William Lynn III, Deputy Secretary of Defense, was declassified and revealed new details of the US government’s exploration of ‘disruptive aerospace technologies’.

Although the correspondence does not mention aliens or UFOs, it appears to confirm the US Senate ordered an assessment of ‘far term foreign aerospace threats’.

It said these include ‘extremely sophisticated concepts within the world of quantum mechanics, nuclear science, electromagnetic theory, gravitics [anti-gravity], and thermodynamics’.

These technologies ‘have the potential to be used with catastrophic effects by adversaries’ Senator Reid warned in his letter, which was obtained by Las Vegas Now.

So, the question remains, have aliens visited Earth? What do you think?
