We are thrilled that I’m pregnant but I fear I will have another miscarriage

DEAR DEIDRE:  MY boyfriend and I are thrilled that I’m seven weeks pregnant but I’m frightened I will have another miscarriage.

I’ve already been through it twice. The grief put a huge strain on our relationship. If it happens again I don’t know how we’ll cope as a couple. It makes me feel less of a woman each time.

My boyfriend is 23 and I’m 24.

I already feel like I’m miscarrying now, with the same sort of feelings that I had before.

But the doctor has reassured me I’m not.

I wake up panicking that I’m going to find I’m losing the baby.

What do I do?

DEIDRE SAYS: I know it is hard not to worry.

Keep checking out your fears with your doctor but also work on lowering these anxiety levels, which can only help during pregnancy.

My e-leaflet Self-help For Stress gives details.
