The answer came as Harry and Jane engaged in a discussion about the environment, and Harry said he'd like to help by limiting the number of children he has.

Prince Harry said at the time: "I think, weirdly, because of the people that I’ve met and the places that I’ve been fortunate enough to go to, I’ve always had a connection and a love for nature.

"I view it differently now, without question. But I’ve always wanted to try and ensure that, even before having a child and hoping to have children…"

When discussing the number of children he'd like to have, Harry said: "Two, maximum! But I’ve always thought: this place is borrowed.

"And, surely, being as intelligent as we all are, or as evolved as we all are supposed to be, we should be able to leave something better behind for the next generation."

Harry and Meghan's baby name choice has garnered a great deal of attention as a result of its nod to both the Queen and Harry's late mother, Princess Diana.

However, it seems Prince Harry actually picked out the name of Lili for his daughter years before she was born.

As Meghan and Harry awaited the arrival of their son Archie Harrison, the couple met locals in Birkenhead, Wirral.

At the time, Meghan was six months pregnant and neither she nor Harry knew the sex of their baby, in a bid to keep it a surprise.

Harry spoke to a member of the public during the visit, and she was a mother of two girls named Lottie and Lily.

The mother told how Harry asked how to spell her daughter Lily's name, curious as to whether it was with an 'I' or 'Y'.

She told the Mailonline at the time: "Prince Harry came over first and chatted to my two-year-old then spoke to my six-year-old Lily and then as he was walking off, he turned back he asked Lily of she spent her name with a I or Y.

"I straight away thought that must be a name choice."

The sweet name of Lili was correctly predicted by OK! days before it was announced, as a royal expert told us it would be the surprise name of choice for Harry and Meghan.
