World Book Day 2020: Stacey Solomon, Marnie Simpson and more share adorable photos of their children
As World Book Day 2020 arrives, on Thursday 5 March, celebrities have taken the opportunity to share some super sweet shots of their little ones dressed up for the occasion.
World Book Day is a registered charity who are on a mission to give each child and young person a book of their own. As a result, it’s a celebration of authors, illustrators, books and reading and it means we can see some of our favourite celebrities, and their children, dressing up.
The Only Way Is Essex star Amy Childs, 29, shared a sweet snap of her daughter dressed up as Beauty and the Beast’s Belle. She captioned the cute shot: “My real life Belle. Awww my darling princess. Her first ever #worldbookday how beautiful does she look please stop growing polly.” [sic]
Amy’s daughter, Polly, is wearing a puffy yellow dress in the photo, with her hair up in a bun with a matching yellow ribbon tied around it, and fans of the star were quick to share their love for the photo.
“She is your double,” one said, with another adding: “So beautiful,” followed by a heart-eye emoji.

Another star sharing the most adorable snaps of her children was Rochelle Humes, whose little ones dressed up as characters Matilda, and Big Bunny.
Fans gushed over former The Saturday's singer Rochelle's children, with one saying: "Your babies are beautiful," followed by a love heart emoji, and DJ Maya Jama wrote: "My heartttttt," [sic]Aston Merrygold also took to Instagram to post love hearts under the picture.
Former Coronation Street actress Catherine Tyldesley shared a fun video of her son dressed up as Harry Potter favourite Ron Weasley, writing: "Note to self : do NOT become a hairdresser . EVER. #ronweasley #worldbookday."
In the video, the star's little boy Alfie shows off ginger hair in a Ron Weasley style, as well as a Harry Potter gown-style costume, and it doesn't get much more adorable!
Another celebrity going down the Harry Potter route was Stacey Solomon, whose son Leighton dressed as the man himself, and looked as cute as ever.
Holding a wand and donning broad-rimmed spectacles, the 7-year-old looked every inch the part, as Stacey wrote: "Happy world book day everyone."
Marnie Simpson shared the sweetest shot of her and baby Rox, sitting on the sofa reading children's book Where's Mrs Bear?
The Geordie Shore star, 28, penned: "As it's #WorldBookDay, I wanted to share what I get up to at home with Rox. I love playing games with Rox such as Peek A Boo, especially at bath time. I also love reading stories to him before he goes to bed and singing different songs."
She continued: "Earlier this week, I co-hosted a rhyme time session at #LutonLibraries, to show why it is so important to chat, play and read with your children. By doing this, you can help them develop the skills they need to have happy experiences in school and beyond."

Marnie recently opened up to OK! Online on giving birth to baby Rex, saying: “I’ve genuinely spoken about surrogacy, that’s how much it put me off.”
To which Marnie’s boyfriend and dad to Rox Casey Johnson added: “It was the birth, it wasn’t the pregnancy.” The mum then clarified: “The pregnancy was fine. Everything started to just go down hill towards the end.
Ferne McCann's daughter also looked as cute as ever. The star, who recently shared a look inside her amazing new nursery, shared a photo of her daughter Sunday, writing: "Never do anything by halves if you want to get away with it. Be outrageous. Go THE WHOLE HOG. My little bitty pretty one (Sunday’s fav song). So I ordered her an outfit online & the delivery didn’t show. so here’s our makeshift Matilda." [sic]
Sunday looked ever so cute in her blue Matilda-themed dress, with a red ribbon in her hair.
Coronation Street star Alan Halsall's adorable little girl dressed up as Aladdin character Princess Jasmine, and people were quick to gush over the sweet shot.
"She looks so beautiful," wrote one, with another person adding: "So beautiful! Hope Princess Jasmine enjoys her day x."
And it wasn't just the children dressing up; Amanda Holden opted for a stunning Tinkerbell costume in green to celebrate the day. The Britain’s Got Talent judge wrote: “It’s a #Tinkerbell kinda day #worldbookday.”
And another celebrity making the most of the celebrated day was Amanda's fellow Britain's Got Talent co-panellist, David Walliams.
The star took the opportunity to share a photo of himself to his 1.8 million followers, writing: "Happy #WorldBookDsy everyone. I hope you have as much fun dressing up as I do. #BFG." [sic]
World Book Day 2019 saw some amazing costumes come into play, including Kimberley Walsh's sons dressed in adorable Gruffalo outfits for the day, and Denise Van Outen's daughter Betsy as Matilda.
World Book Day is the biggest celebration of its kind, designated by UNESCO and marked in over 100 countries all over the world.
