Templegate's racing tips: Carlisle, Newcastle, Southwell and Wincanton – Betting preview for Thursday

LIGHT LILY (2.00, nap) can shine at Southwell.

She is gunning for a hat-trick after two convincing wins here, including over this trip last time. The second was five lengths away and it could have been more.

WAR WHISPER (6.00 Newcastle, nb) came back from a break to finish second here 15 days ago. He might well have won with a clear run and goes off the same mark.

LASTIN’ MEMORIES (2.50 Carlisle, treble) was impressive when scoring at Kelso when this testing ground was ideal. He shapes as though this longer distance will bring improvement.

Britney Spears’ son Jayden Federline slams grandfather Jamie: ‘He could go die’

Britney Spears‘ 13-year-old son, Jayden Federline, ripped into his grandfather Jamie Spears in a no-holds-barred rant on Instagram Live on Tuesday.

When a follower wrote, “kill your grandfather,” Jayden responded, “Bro, I was thinking the same thing,” in the almost 20-minute video. Jayden is the younger son of Britney and ex-husband Kevin Federline.

Then, when a fan asked the teen, “Is your grandpa a jerk?,” Jayden responded, “Yeah, he’s a pretty big d—k. He’s pretty f—king gay as s—t. He can go die.”

Jamie, 67, previously had conservatorship rights over his pop-star daughter for nearly a decade.

In 2019, fans formed the #FreeBritney movement, which claimed the singer’s social media was being controlled by her team. They also believed she was forced to seek mental health treatment against her will.

During his Instagram Live, Jayden denied that his mother was being controlled, but said he would open up more about her situation once he reached 5,000 followers.

Jayden said he last saw his mother two days prior to recording the video, but was currently staying with his dad, whom he praised.

“I have the best dad ever,” he said. “My dad is literally Jesus.”

Kevin, 41, has 70 percent custody of Jayden and his 14-year-old brother, Sean Preston Federline. Britney, 38, has 30 percent unsupervised rights.

Although Jayden slammed Jamie, he praised Britney’s boyfriend, Sam Asghari, saying he was “nice” and calling him a “really good dude.”

He also spoke highly of his maternal grandmother Lynn Spears, saying, “My grandma is literally the best grandma in the universe. All of my grandmas, actually.”

It’s no secret that Jamie has had tension with Britney’s sons in the past.

In September, Kevin accused Jamie of abusing Sean by putting his hands on him during an altercation. Sources told TMZ that Jamie allegedly broke down a door to get to the teenager during a fight and grabbed him.

Criminal charges were not filed against Jamie.

Kevin’s rep, Los Angeles family law attorney Mark Vincent Kaplan, exclusively told us at the time that it was not Kevin’s desire to see Jamie be prosecuted. He added, “The police report that he initiated was only for the purpose of obtaining protection orders for the children and those remain in place.”

Aside from Jayden’s rant about Jamie, the teen also commented on Britney’s music career, saying she may leave the industry. She has been on hiatus since she checked into a mental health facility last April.

“I haven’t seen her do a lot of new music at all,” Jayden said. “I remember one time I asked her, ‘Mom, what happened to your music?’ and she was, like, “I don’t know, honey. I think I might just quit it.”

He said he was shocked by her response, adding that he told her, “What are you saying? Do you know how much bank you make off of that stuff?”

Page Six has reached out to Britney and Kevin’s reps for comment.

Lizzo Wants TikTok To Stop Censoring Her Bikini Videos: 'We Need To Talk'

We all know Lizzo as the genius behind some of our favorite self-love anthems including “Truth Hurts” and “Good As Hell.” But what you may not know is that she’s actually pretty popular on the video-sharing app TikTok, too. And after sharing several viral challenges and behind-the-scenes videos from the studio, Lizzo hit up the social media platform yesterday (March 3) when she noticed that some of her posts — specifically the ones of her in her bathing suit — had been removed from the app entirely.

“TikTok keeps taking down my videos with me in my bathing suits but allows other videos with girls in bathing suits,” the 31-year-old artist wrote. “I wonder why? TikTok… we need to talk.” All the while, the “Juice” singer was lip-syncing to one of TikTok’s viral sounds that repeats the words “I know,” hinting she already knows the answer.

Lizzo isn’t the first person to suggest that TikTok has been unequally removing posts. In December 2019, a report from the German site NetzPolitik.org alleged that in an attempt to lessen online bullying, “the platform instructed its moderators to mark videos of people with disabilities and limit their reach.” The report also said that LGBTQ+ and fat people were marked as being some of the groups susceptible to bullying, as well.

First, The Guardian reported in December that posts were being censored, not fully taken down. Some videos, for example, weren’t viewable outside of the country in which they were posted. Others were said to have been blocked from being featured on the “For You” page, which is essential if users want to skyrocket to viral TikTok fame.

While TikTok did own up to censoring posts on the app in its beginning stages, they told The Verge that those policies were only temporary. “Early on, in response to an increase in bullying on the app, we implemented a blunt and temporary policy,” a spokesperson told The Verge. “While the intention was good, the approach was wrong and we have long since changed the earlier policy in favour of more nuanced anti-bullying policies and in-app protections.”

So, what happened? Unfortunately, that’s only an answer TikTok has provided, and it’s safe to say Lizzo fans on the app aren’t happy. “Oh wow! Wouldn’t think they’d pull videos from stars,” one user wrote in the comments. And after one fan wrote that the the app has “been caught doing this to so many people,” hundreds of other fans posted comments alleging that their content, much like hers, has been subject to removal, too.

Andrew Yang Wants To Be Joe Biden's Running Mate

Andrew Yang‘s still got his eye on the White House … because he’d be stoked to be Joe Biden‘s vice president.

The former presidential hopeful joined us on “TMZ Live” Thursday and we asked if he’d say yes to an offer to be Biden’s running mate if Joe’s the nominee. Andrew tells us he’d jump at the chance, and thinks he could bring a lot to the table.

The way Andrew sees it, he could help Biden in some areas where he could be lacking … namely, appealing to younger voters. Andrew says the Yang Gang makes him feel young, even at 45.  It could work on Biden, too.

Remember … Andrew had the most fun of any candidate on the campaign trail, hanging with Donald Glover and doling out whipped cream shots to kneeling supporters.

Andrew tells us he’s still considering a run for mayor of New York City — he wants a high-impact executive role somewhere — but he knows being Veep gives him the best chance to make the country stronger.

Yang also announced Thursday he’s founded a new non-profit group called Humanity Forward, with the mission of implementing policies to build a more “human-centered America” instead of endorsing or donating to candidates.

Bias against women still held by nearly 90 per cent of us: study

Washington: Almost 90 per cent of people are biased against women, according to a UN report that warns progress towards gender equality is "getting slower and more difficult" in some areas.

Despite decades of progress in advancing women's rights, 91 per cent of men and 86 per cent of women hold at least one bias against women when it comes to politics, work, economics, education, domestic violence or reproductive rights.

The Gender Social Norms Index report published on Thursday by the UN Development Program (UNDP), also suggested advances in gender equality had created a "backlash" in attitudes, with the proportion of people expressing bias actually growing in 15 countries over the past few years.

The figures were compiled using the first gender social norm index that analysed data from 75 countries and territories which together account for 81 per cent of the global population.

It found that around half of the men and women surveyed believe men make better political leaders, more than 40 per cent felt that males made better business executives and almost 30 per cent thought it was justifiable for a man to beat his partner.

"Over the past decade, it's clear that gender inequality is slowing down," Heriberto Tapia, one of the lead researchers, said. Tapia pointed to the fact that the number of female heads of government has fallen to just 10 out of a possible 193.

The report said that while men and women vote at similar rates, only 24 per cent of parliamentary seats worldwide are held by women. Women in the labour market are paid less than men and are much less likely to be in senior positions: less than 6 per cent of CEOs in S&P 500 companies are women, it said. And while women work more hours than men, the work is more likely to be unpaid care work.

"We also see in the MeToo movement that women feel something is missing and people in power are not responding," he said.

Out of the 75 countries surveyed, there were only six in which the majority of people did not express some form of bias against women – Andorra, Australia, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway and Sweden.

But Sweden was also one of several countries, including Germany, India and Mexico, in which the percentage of people who held at least one bias increased over the nine years that the data covered.

More than half of people in the UK held at least one bias. Tapia said one hypothesis for the slowdown in progress was ingrained prejudices.

"Until now, policies have been addressing basic issues in the fight for parity. For instance, a few decades ago, there was a big gap in the education of boys and girls: that gap has been reduced," he said.

"That's the basic part of the story. In the UK, the years of education of men and women is roughly the same. However, women get 44 per cent less income than men," he said.

The UNDP called on governments and institutions to use a new generation of policies to change these discriminatory beliefs and practices through education, and by raising awareness and changing incentives. For example, by using taxes to promote fair sharing of childcare responsibilities, or by encouraging women and girls to enter traditionally male-dominated sectors.

“#MeToo, #NiUnaMenos, #TimesUp, #UnVioladorEnTuCamino. The women’s rights demonstrations we’re seeing across the world today, energised by young feminists, are signalling that new alternatives for a different world are needed,” said Raquel Lagunas, acting director of the program's Gender Team.

"We have come a long way in recent decades," said Pedro Conceição, also of the UNDP. "But gender gaps are still all too obvious in other areas, particularly those that challenge power relations and are most influential in actually achieving true equality. Today, [it] is a story of bias and prejudices."

Bill Clinton is forever a liability for Hillary in a Post-#MeToo world

Stress, they say, is a killer. So let’s take a moment to feel sorry for Bill Clinton, who now claims he took advantage of Monica Lewinsky to “manage my anxieties” while president.

Bill being Bill, there will be no real apology coming, just some typical and expected minimizing.

“But whatever,” he says. “What I did was bad, but it wasn’t like — how can I think about the most stupid thing I could do and do it.”

This is from a new documentary on Hillary, a for-hire job meant to canonize her and the would-be Clinton dynasty.

And in typical Clinton fashion, they refuse to take the memo: Post-#MeToo, Bill is forever a liability. Hillary’s legacy, no matter how many books she writes or speeches she makes, is the two-time presidential loser who put Donald Trump in the White House.

No longer needed nor wanted, the Clintons refuse to go away, to accept the Democratic Party is no longer theirs to lead.

We’ve long known the Clintons are shameless. But even the most bloodless politicians usually have a floor.

In the documentary, which begins streaming Friday, Hillary says she was shocked — shocked! — after her husband admits to the Lewinsky affair, telling Bill, “I can’t believe you lied.”

A vapor-inducing moment, to be sure.

Let’s see: Before Monica — who was a victim here, a 22-year-old intern used, in the White House, by the most powerful man in the world for stress-relief, just as his hero JFK did to then-19-year-old intern Mimi Alford — there was Paula Jones, Kathleen Willey, Juanita Broaddrick and Gennifer Flowers, to name a few.

And Bill, a pathological liar capable of sympathy only for himself, has long encouraged others to lie for him, no matter the devastation — especially disgusting when you consider that these women believed Bill’s other lie, that he was in love with them.

As Gennifer Flowers, Bill’s mistress of 12 years whose existence threatened his 1992 presidential campaign, wrote in her 1995 memoir “Passion and Betrayal”: “I took Bill at his word when he said all I had to do was deny, deny, deny — no one could prove anything.”

Then he and Hillary went on “60 Minutes” where, Flowers wrote, Bill “denied having an affair with me and accused me of fabricating the story for profit.”

So Flowers brought out the receipts — recordings she had made of conversations with Bill, ones made without his knowledge.

Finally, while being deposed in another sexual harassment case in 1998, Clinton admitted to having sex with Flowers. Only once, he swore.

Of course.

In the 2018 A&E documentary “The Clinton Affair,” Lewinsky said that Bill told her to lie under oath.

This was a young girl threatened with 27 years in prison by federal prosecutors if she committed perjury. At her lowest point, Lewinsky was suicidal. Yet for a long time, she believed Bill would protect her.

Wonder where she got that idea?

And, of course, never forget Juanita Broaddrick, who has spent decades credibly claiming that Bill Clinton raped her in an Arkansas hotel room in 1978. Her account has never wavered.

Told that then-governor Clinton wanted to meet with her privately, Broaddrick went up to his room where:

“He forces me down on the bed. And I was just very frightened … I was even to the point where I was getting very noisy, you know, yelling to — you know — to please stop. But that’s when he would press down on my right shoulder and bite my lip.”

As Christopher Hitchens wrote in his 1999 polemic “No One Left to Lie To: The Triangulations of William Jefferson Clinton,” Broaddrick was seen right after, pantyhose torn and lip swollen, by her friend Norma Kelsey. Broaddrick disclosed to five people in the immediate aftermath, including her future husband.

Pre-#MeToo, most of the mainstream media ignored Broaddrick’s claims. Women, left-leaning feminists included, wrote her off as a liar, a stalker, a nut and a slut.

American Aquarium Preview New Album 'Lamentations' With Resilient 'Long Haul'

American Aquarium leader BJ Barham doubles down on his commitment to stay sober and follow his artistic impulses in “Long Haul,” the first preview of the group’s new album. Titled Lamentations and produced by Shooter Jennings, the North Carolina band’s follow-up to 2018’s political Things Change will be released May 1st via New West Records.

Mixing a bit of piano-driven Muscle Shoals groove with the beating heart of Bob Seger’s rock & roll, “The Long Haul” features Barham — now backed by a revamped lineup of Shane Boeker, Ryan Van Fleet, Alden Hedges, Neil Jones, and Rhett Huffman — addressing criticism about his band’s evolving sound and changes to his lifestyle. “Get your head out of the clouds, boy/Pretty soon you’ll realize/Sometimes the kindest thing you can do for a dream is let it die,” he sings, voicing his detractors, but then offers promises that he’ll be resilient enough to see it through.

The new song is accompanied by a video from directorial team Cal & Aly that was filmed at Dave’s Room in North Hollywood, California as American Aquarium laid down tracks with producer Jennings. Guests on Lamentations include the Watson Twins, Jamie Lin Wilson, and Matt Douglas.

‘The Daily Show With Trevor Noah’ Talks About The Job The Presidential Candidates Couldn’t Get

Trevor Noah started his monologue by airing the complaints of Elizabeth Warren on sexism in her race for the Democratic presidential nomination. “She has a good point,” Noah said, noting that a woman is faced with two choices in discussing the allegation – to be either viewed as a whiner if they acknowledge it, or someone living on another planet if they ignore it.

Noah said that’s not fair, “Especially since the President is already a whiner who lives on another planet.”

He also noted that a Democratic race that started out with a broad array of candidates is now strangely down to two old white men in Bernie Sanders and Joe Biden, with 73-year-old incumbent Donald Trump as the youngest person in the race.

“There’s no other job where they would be the top candidates,” said Noah. Even a Life Alert commercial wouldn’t take them, he claimed. “You guys don’t look like you’re young enough to save. We’re kind of going for someone healthier.”

Coronavirus in Italy shock: How Nostradamus warned of ‘plagues upon mankind’ near Rome

The coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 has found a strong foothold in Italy in recent weeks. The virus has infected at least 3,858 people as of Thursday, March 5, and killed 148.

The coronavirus first emerged in China’s Hubei Province last December but has spread like wildfire across the globe.

Recent mass outbreaks in places like Italy, Iran and South Korea have led many to speculate about the pathogen’s origin.

Although scientists believe the novel coronavirus was contracted by humans from an animal source, far more sinister conspiracies and rumours are rife on the internet.

Many have outrageously claimed the coronavirus is a rogue bioweapon that has escaped from a secret laboratory in Wuhan City, China.

  • Coronavirus cure: Groundbreaking nanoparticles could wipe out COVID-19

Some Christian hardliners have also claimed the coronavirus has prophetic links to the Bible’s Book of Revelation and the Second Coming of Christ.

There are also conspiracy theorists who believe the coronavirus epidemic was predicted by the 16th-century apothecary and supposed seer Michelle de Nostredame.

More commonly known as Nostradamus, the prolific French writer is considered by many to be a prophet of the end times.

Nostradamus is credited with predicting the rise to power of Adolf Hitler and the Great London Fire of 1666.

But what did Nostradamus supposedly have to say about the coronavirus epidemic?

There is nothing in Nostradamus’ cryptic writings that outright names the SARS-CoV-2 virus and its disease, COVID-19.

Nostradamus predicted the Chinese would use germ warfare against the US

David “Baker” Wooderson on Twitter

There are, however, many mentions of plague and disease in specific locations.

Nostradamus penned his supposed prophecies and predictions in four-line poems or quatrains.

In one such passage, Nostradamus warned of “many plagues upon mankind” near the river Tiber, which runs through Rome, Italy.

Coronavirus prophecy: The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse are here [INSIGHT]
Climate change: Earth’s carbon sinks are close to collapsing [INTERVIEW]
Was coronavirus prophesied in the Book of Revelation? [ANALYSIS]

  • God is punishing humanity until Third Temple is built –bizarre claim

In Century V, Quatrain 63, Nostradamus wrote: “From the vain enterprise honour and undue complaint,

“Boats tossed about among the Latins, cold, hunger, waves,

“Not far from the Tiber the land stained with blood,

“And diverse plagues will be upon mankind.”

Based on the passage alone it is unclear what the French writer meant when he warned of a plague.

Regardless, the COVID-19 epidemics is not the first global emergency to strike since Nostradamus’ death in 1566 and there have been much worse pandemics.

But there are still people who believe Nostradamus knew of the epidemic nearly 500 years ago.

David “Baker” Wooderson said on Twitter: “This coronavirus seems like germ warfare… Nostradamus predicted the Chinese would use germ warfare against the US…

“With the US economy booming, and the Chinese economy collapsing? Plus the 2020 election here?

“Too many coincidences for me to keep my head in the sand!”

Another Twitter user said: “Nostradamus and many prophetics and futuristics postulation of the past have already said it that Africa will be the world last civilisations.

“This Coronavirus got me thinking for my mind the virus has been in existence since some people just feel like it’s time to used it for.”

But there is no evidence to support the claim Nostradamus had the powers to predict the future.

Popular sceptic and author of the Skeptoid podcast Brian Dunning said: “Nostradamus’ writings are exploited in a number of fallacious ways.

“Ambiguous and wrong translations, ‘creative’ interpretations, hoax writings, fictional accounts, and the breaking of non-existent codes within his quatrains all contribute to a vast body of work, all of it wrong, and many times the size of everything Nostradamus ever actually wrote.”
