Brooklyn Beckham turns 21 as Victoria posts throwback snap of son with David

Brooklyn Beckham has turned 21.

And his mum Victoria Beckham kick started the celebrations with a sweet message and throwback photo on Instagram on Wednesday.

In the photo taken 21 years ago, a young David rested newborn Brooklyn on one of his arms just shortly after the baby was born.

It's rumoured the Beckham couple have splashed out £100,000 on his birthday bash being hosted at their Cotswolds estate.

They spared no expense on his generous pile of presents which were wrapped in paper with his face printed on it.

Ahead of the celebrations, the mother-of-four marked the milestone with a birthday note as she described her son as "sensitive, sweet, kind and funny".

Victoria said her firstborn son "changed" both her and David's lives forever as they became parents for the first time 21 years ago.

She wrote: "21 years ago today the most beautiful soul came into the world and changed our lives forever.

"Sensitive, sweet, kind and funny, you are our everything. I love you so much @davidbeckham xxx Happy Birthday."

  • Victoria and David Beckham cut incredibly stylish figures as cheer on Becks' new team

David posted an equally gushing message on his Instagram grid with a throwback picture of Brooklyn.

The dad-of-four said his son had grown into the "most beautiful human being" with his kindness and his passion for life.

He wrote: "Happy 21st to my big boy what more can I say about you other than you have grown into the most beautiful human being and that makes dad so proud…

"You are kind, passionate and caring and as a father that’s what you want to see in your son… We have had so many great moments as a father and son together like lifting trophies in all the places that I won them and for me that was always my dream… I love you bust have the most amazing day because u deserve it." (sic)

Brooklyn's set to have a huge showbiz extravaganza bash later on with a V.I.P celebrity guest list.

A-list pals will be attending Brooklyn's birthday party including family friends Gordan and Tana Ramsay, Emma Bunton as well as Niall Horan, of One Direction.

Other celebs believed to be attending include Elton John, who is Brooklyn's godfather, Guy Ritchie and Cara Delevingne.

A source told The Sun : "It’ll be wall to wall celebrities, and a lot more extravagant than the hiring out of the local town hall."

No doubt Brooklyn's new love and actress Nicola Peltz, 25, will be at the A-list affair.

The aspiring photographer and the billionaire's daughter have sparked rumours marriage could be on the cards soon.

Often they both post smitten messages and loved-up photographs on social media.

Former CNN Anchor Bobbie Battista Dies at 67 After Battling Cervical Cancer

Bobbie Battista, one of the original anchors of CNN Headline News, has died.

Battista died on Tuesday morning at the age of 67 after a four-year battle with cervical cancer, a family spokeswoman told CNN.

“Bobbie was the consummate trooper in her struggle with cancer, she was courageous and fearless in her battle and thoughtful for all the others in her life even as she fought through the pain,” Battista’s husband John Brimelow told CNN in a statement. “My dear partner of 25 years of marriage has cut her earthly bonds and is now in peace.”

David P. Gelles, CNN’s executive producer of political programming, also announced the news on Twitter, remembering Battista’s 20-year career at the network.

Battista, a graduate of Northwestern University, began her career at a country music radio station in Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina, then became the anchor and producer of Action News 5 for WRAL-TV in Raleigh. She began her television career at WRAL-TV in 1976.

In 1981, Battista joined the CNN Headline News station as an anchor when the network launched. By 1988, she was moved to the main network and began anchoring several news programs, including TalkBack Live, which aired before a studio audience in the CNN Center in Atlanta, featuring newsmakers and public participation. She also anchored Today, World News and Prime News, as well as other shows and specials.

In 2001, Battista reflected on her tenure at the network and shared her advice for aspiring reporters.

“You must go to college,” she said. “You must major in either political science or broadcast journalism. You’ll have to be willing to go to a small town somewhere, and do your time in the trenches. There’s a lot of competition, and you have to work your way up.”

“Or, you can start at an entry level position at a [network like] CNN, but if you want to be an anchor, you’ll have to do your time in the trenches,” she added. “You have to love what you do. It’s probably one of the most rewarding fields you could ever choose to work in.”

Fashionista Millie Mackintosh shows off beautiful animal-themed baby nursery as due date nears

In her first exclusive shoot and interview inside the West London home she and husband Hugo Taylor moved into six weeks ago, Millie Mackintosh has revealed their baby girl’s nursery for the first time. With an entire wall covered in animal wallpaper, featuring a giraffe, an elephant and a flamingo against a jungle backdrop, and Scandiborn shelves of children’s books on display, the bright, sunny room is just perfect for an infant.

WATCH: Millie Mackintosh gives us a tour inside her stunning home

“We want to be able to teach her the names of animals when she’s getting big enough to say words, and give her an interest in outdoors and nature. I think the theme is quite calming as well, and it’s really cute,” explains Millie, adding that she has been spending lots of time in the nursery; it’s where she goes to relax and meditate. The beautiful mum-to-be poses with her mother Georgina in the exclusive HELLO! shoot, alongside a sweet flamingo toy and leopard print from Scandiborn.

“To have a mindful moment, and breathe. It feels like a happy and calm space. Mind you it probably won’t feel as calm when she’s had a poo explosion nappy! But I’m making the most of it for now,” explains the 30-year-old fashionista, who admitted to suffering from “severe anxiety” earlier on in her pregnancy, which she reveals has, thankfully, abated now.

Millie said of her mum Georgina: “She’s so wise and has been giving me lots of advice”

The couple are expecting a baby girl in May and she says pregnancy has brought her and Hugo closer together. “Pregnancy is very bonding,” she told HELLO! “We feel like a family unit now. I talk to the baby a lot, and Hugo does a little bit, but I think it’s harder for guys – it’s a very different experience for them, and I think their connection comes, really, when the baby arrives. But Hugo has actually started to have really vivid dreams so he’s picking up on pregnancy symptoms just from being around me. He’s also had back pain – but that’s more to do with helping lift me up from the sofa!”

MORE: These are the royals’ favourite British pubs – have you been to any?

And she also has the support of her mother. “My mum has been great, and is a sounding board when I’m having a moment of worry. She’s so wise and has been giving me lots of advice.” The former Made in Chelsea star also tells HELLO! how she won’t rush back to work after the birth. “I want to take time out from the outside world to focus on that special time to just bond with her and spend time as a family, and try to figure it out. But I know that life will change massively once she arrives. You can only prepare so much!”

The star is expecting her first child in May

Back in November, Millie and Hugo exclusively announced they were expecting their first child in HELLO! The mum-to-be revealed she was having a girl, due in May. “Hearing her heartbeat for the first time with Hugo by my side was one of the most amazing moments of my life so far,” said Millie. “I feel very lucky. I can’t wait to feel that bond and for her to sleep on my chest and breathe in that baby smell.”

After seeing an exciting first glimpse of their daughter during a scan, Millie revealed: “She’s got long legs – Hugo thinks she’s going to be really tall like him.” She added: “I’m so excited it’s a girl. I would’ve been delighted with either, but when I found out we were having a girl, I suddenly realised this is what I really wanted.”

Hugo and Millie married in June 2018

The couple tied the knot in June 2018, in a romantic ceremony at Whithurst Park in West Sussex, which was covered exclusively by HELLO!. The ceremony included thoughtful touches to create a wedding day that fully reflected them and their relationship. As guests entered a stunning marquee for the sit-down meal they were greeted by long wooden tables that were named after the nightclubs the couple frequented, with the bride and groom taking their seats at the Boujis table – a sweet nod to where they first met 12 years ago.

“Even in my wildest dreams I didn’t imagine it would be this perfect,” Millie told HELLO! of their wedding day, while Hugo agreed: “It’s been everything we dreamt of times a thousand. I’ve never been happier.”

Pick up the new issue of HELLO! out on Monday for the full interview.

Mike Bloomberg’s $500M campaign DOA on Super Tuesday

He’ll always have American Samoa!

Mike Bloomberg’s $500 million White House bid fizzled on Super Tuesday as the billionaire’s earth-shattering investment failed to produce big returns at the polls in his first outing of the primary season.

The ex-Big Apple mayor scored his first and only win in American Samoa, a tiny US territory in the South Pacific, but his big bet didn’t pay off and he barely rated anywhere else.

As the night wore on, Bloomberg at 12 a.m. trailed behind the pack with just 32 delegates — costing him a whopping $15.6 million a piece.

Even if Bloomberg netted the 140 delegates he was projected to win by night’s end, he would still be out $3.6 million per delegate — while falling far short of former Vice President Joe Biden and Sen. Bernie Sanders.

The successful candidate needs 1,991 delegates to win the presidential nomination at the Democratic National Convention in Milwaukee in July.

Bloomberg, 78, made waves when he entered the Democratic presidential race in late November and made the unprecedented decision to snub early states, appearing on the ballot for the first time on March 3.

While his Democrat rivals duked it out in Nevada and South Carolina, Bloomberg was instead in North Carolina and Virginia, putting on lavishly catered town halls. His campaign focused on the south and had the biggest ground game in Arkansas, Oklahoma and Tennessee — putting dozens of staff on the ground and spending millions of dollars on ads.

He spent $57 million on TV ads in California alone.

But as the results poured in on Tuesday night, it became clear he’d made a bad investment.

He failed to win a single state, a disappointing result that left the media mogul and his staff reassessing the future of their campaign.

Bloomberg flew back to New York City while the results were still being counted and he is now considering dropping out as soon as Wednesday, campaign sources told Politico.

The moderate votes that Bloomberg was banking on instead went to former Vice President Joe Biden, 77, who ran a shoestring campaign that was on life support until he scored a shocking rout in South Carolina.

Biden’s win there pushed two other candidates — former Mayor Pete Buttigieg and Sen. Amy Klobuchar — from the race and their support to his corner.

President Trump gleefully weighed in from the White House — calling Bloomberg “the biggest loser” of the night while referring to him by his preferred taunt “Mini Mike.”

“His ‘political’ consultants took him for a ride. $700 million washed down the drain, and he got nothing for it but the nickname Mini Mike, and the complete destruction of his reputation. Way to go Mike!” Trump tweeted.

Dramatic NASA satellite maps show the shocking effect on China amid coronavirus shutdown

The NASA maps show how levels of nitrogen dioxide, a toxic gas from vehicles, power plants and factories, plummeted after the mass quarantine, compared with before. Confirmed coronavirus cases now number at least 90,993 victims and there have been 3,119 deaths.

Experts now believe coronavirus reduced at least a quarter of China’s emissions of damaging greenhouse gases in just a fortnight last month.

This is the first time I have seen such a dramatic drop-off over such a wide area for a specific event

Dr Lei Liu

Closing industrial plants and ordering suspected patients to stay at home has led to steep falls in the burning of fossil fuels — a key contributor to the climate change — in the world’s largest producer of greenhouse gases.

NASA space maps compare pollution levels between the first three weeks of the year and February 10 to 25.

The space agency’s scientists reveal the pollution plummet was first apparent near Wuhan, the source of the outbreak, where it quickly spread across China.

  • Coronavirus: High threat level for EU citizens as bloc issues warning

Dr Lei Liu, an air quality researcher at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Centre, said: “This is the first time I have seen such a dramatic drop-off over such a wide area for a specific event.”

The scientist said she had witnessed a similar decline in nitrogen dioxide (NO2) levels during the economic recession of 2008 but added that decrease was more gradual.

Although the 2020 fall coincided with the Lunar New Year, when factories and businesses close, but researchers believe the decline is far greater than could be attributed to the holiday period.

NO2 concentrations over eastern and central China were 10 to 30 percent lower than what is normally observed over the time period.

Added to this, there has not been a rebound in levels following the holiday.

Dr Liu said: “This year, the reduction rate is more significant than in past years and it has lasted longer.

“I am not surprised because many cities nationwide have taken measures to minimise spread of the virus.”

A separate study in February found China’s carbon emissions had dropped by least 100 million metric tonnes in the previous fortnight.

This is compared to nearly six percent of global emissions during the same period last year.

According to a study by the Centre for Research on Energy and Clean Air in Finland, the rapid spread of the coronavirus led to a drop in demand for coal and oil, resulting in the emissions slump.

The news comes as Public Health England announced how widespread transmission of coronavirus in the UK is now “highly likely”.

Medical Director Professor Paul Cosford added the country must be prepared for the virus.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson was at a meeting of the emergency COBRA committee on Monday to finalise government plans, after the number of UK cases jumped to 36.

Meanwhile, the EU has raised the coronavirus risk in member states to “moderate to high”.

Professor Cosford said the extent of infection in other countries suggested the UK needed to prepare for more widespread infection.

Pressed on whether this was now inevitable, he told the BBC: “I wouldn’t say anything is inevitable but it is now highly likely.”

EDA spokeswoman Elisabeth Schoeffmann denied a report that the man had attended a four-hour meeting with 30 other officials before he was diagnosed.

The report by Euractiv had claimed that one of those other officials was already being tested for coronavirus.

The European Parliament has already limited public access to its buildings in Brussels and Strasbourg, amid fears that large gatherings could hasten the spread of the global outbreak.

Belgium has confirmed 13 cases of the virus so far. Belgian media today reported the first case which had been transmitted on Belgian soil, rather than brought home from abroad.

European Commission chief Ursula von der Leyen said earlier this week that the EU’s disease prevention agency ECDC had raised the risk level ‘from moderate to high’.

‘In other words, the virus continues to spread,’ she told reporters.

To coordinate the EU reaction to the outbreak, EU health ministers will gather in Brussels on Friday for an extraordinary meeting, the second this year to address the coronavirus crisis.

The health council could be held in parallel with an extraordinary meeting of EU migration ministers, an official said.

EU experts have so far agreed that turning people potentially infected with the virus back at borders could help spread the disease, but this position is subject to weekly reviews.

Closing Schengen’s internal borders on health grounds would be unprecedented.

This is how much money Jessa Duggar is really worth

According to Celebrity Net Worth, the extended Duggar clan, stars of TLC’s 19 Kids and Counting and Counting On, are worth a whopping $3.5 million combined. It’s a massive figure, but split between all the kids, and their own children, even a few million dollars can only go so far.

Still, the appeal of the Duggars is — and has always been — how normal they seem. If they were living it up in a mansion, the effect would be lost. Fans love watching them dealing with whatever life throws at them, like recently when Jessa Duggar shared about her son’s developmental delay. Sometimes, however, it’s unclear how the likes of Jessa Duggar and her husband Ben Seewald are making ends meet with kids to feed, too. Reality TV means good money, but there are still plenty of bills to pay.

Jessa Duggar is doing pretty well

A recent Reddit discussion involved a fan asking out straight whether Seewald does anything for work besides homeschooling the children, especially as he has a college degree to fall back on. Jessa’s income, meanwhile, may come predominantly from sponsored social media content. However, it’s worth noting that, according to InTouch Weekly, she previously denied posting for money (Hollywood Gossip rounded up several instances of the Duggars sharing allegedly sponsored content, which begs to differ).

Patriarch Jim Bob owns his own real estate company as well as several properties, so it’s possible he helps out whenever Jessa and Ben need it. Seewald has even been known to do some handyman work for him, too. The couple also charged for speaking engagements a couple years ago, as per the official family blog. Their main source of income is likely the show which, reality TV producer Terrence Michael told E! News, could reasonably be netting them $25,000 per episode for one budgeted at $250,000, as stars generally take 10 percent.

Today, Ben and Jessa are estimated to be worth around $400,000, according to Celebrity Toob, while Wealthy Persons suggests slightly higher, at $1 million. The lower figure is more regularly collaborated, including by The Hollywood Gossip and Cheat Sheet, though so it’s more likely to be accurate.

Mandy Moore and Ryan Adams' Tumultuous Relationship Timeline

Mandy Moore and Ryan Adams weathered their fair share of ups and downs during their nearly six-year marriage, but the drama was not over when their relationship ended.

The former couple remained relatively private about their personal lives following their 2009 wedding. The occasional soundbite or social media post made its way out into the open from time to time, but the pair largely flew under the radar.

The musicians called it quits in 2015, just two months before what would have been their sixth anniversary. After finalizing their divorce in 2016, Adams and Moore appeared to still be supportive of each other, though tensions boiled beneath the surface.

The actress began speaking out about her experience with her ex-husband in late 2018 after finding renewed professional success on This Is Us. She continued to come clean about the “Wonderwall” singer’s alleged behavior during their relationship, eventually leading to a 2019 New York Times profile in which seven women, including Moore, came forward to share misconduct allegations against Adams. He denied the accusations made against him.

Moore remarried in 2018, tying the knot with fellow musician Taylor Goldsmith. “I always just thought, like, ‘I’m good to go to the courthouse,’” the Tangled star told Us Weekly one week before the nuptials. “I’ve never really, until this point in my life, ever dreamt about or given any thought to an actual wedding.”

Meanwhile, Adams revealed one month later that he was 60 days sober. “2018: you brought me to my knees,” he tweeted at the time. “It turns out that’s where I needed to be: in prayer for everyone here or lost. In these trying times, God bless everyone struggling or on the path to empathy, kindness and recovery.”
