Woman transforms her tarnished jewellery using £1 paste and people claim it’s better than expensive specialist cleaners

IT happens to the best of us. We wear our favourite silver pieces of jewellery time and time again until eventually it naturally tarnishes over time losing all aesthetic appeal.

But rather than popping it away never to see the light of day again, one woman has shown how to get it sparkling like new – and it takes just minutes.

Posting to the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK Facebook group, the jewellery lover expressed her amazement after trying the beloved Pink Stuff cleaning paste on her worn, tarnished bangles.

Her silver jewellery had lost it's shine and sported slight discolouration, but after rubbing the 99p miracle cleaning paste over the surface, they were as good as new.

Amazed by how well it work, she shared snaps online, and said: "Anybody else tried cleaning jewellery with the pink stuff paste, pleased with how it turned out."

And while some people were surprised, many others admitted to being well aware of it astonishing cleaning abilities with claims it works wonders on absolutely everything.

Proving she isn't alone, though, another woman revealed that she too uses it on her jewellery and claims it's even better than expensive jewellery cleaner.

She said: " I clean my Pandora jewellery with it, amazing results……better than their own cleaner which they charge £15 for."

Meanwhile, a second woman agreed: "Yep definitely recommend. Bought my Pandora bracelet and charms up a treat."

And a third admitted: "I’ve just done very tarnished brass light switches they came up like brand new."

Mrs Hinch, the ultimate cleaning guru, previously shared a similar result after taking the cleaning paste to extremely tarnished trinkets she'd picked up second hand – and the results were incredible.

We also shared this woman gets her filthy silver jewellery sparkling in minutes using these two household items.

Plus  Mrs Hinch got her jewellery looking sparkling new with a £1 Stardrops spray.

And this cleaning fanatic used an 89p paste to transform her crockery which was so scratched she almost binned the whole set.

Yovanna Momplaisir Earns Her Peach: I’m a Full Housewife for Season 13!

Early this month, it was reported that not one but two cast members would not be returning to The Real Housewives of Atlanta for Season 13.

But one woman will be returning as a Full Housewife … to the surprise and fury of most of the cast.

At least half of this past season of The Real Housewives of Atlanta was consumed by one overpowering topic.

That point of contention was SnakeGate.

Essentially, somebody snitched to NeNe Leakes on what people were saying about her.

Ultimately, the spy in their midst turned out to be none other than Yovanna Momplaisir.

NeNe Leakes and Gail "Yovanna" Momplaisir

Now, TMZ reports that Yovanna Momplaisir will return to the cast.

She won’t be just a Friend in Season 13, either.

Yovanna will have her own peach as a Full Houswife.

That means appearing in just about every episode and being involved in just about every group activity.

Gail "Yovanna" Momplaisir

Apparently, contracts went out to all of the ladies after they filmed the Reunion.

The plan is apparently for much of Yovanna’s storyline to revolve around the ongoing SnakeGate fallout.

Yovanna has drama with the other Housewives and with NeNe, so there will be no shortage of filmable conflict.

One thing that may be lacking is allies for Yovanna.

Kandi Buruss, Shamari DeVoe, and Gail "Yovanna" Momplaisir

We know that a lot of folks are understandably leery of reports of who is and is not retaining their peach for next season.

After all, reports like these can be wrong all of the time.

But suffice it to say that we are strongly, strongly inclined to believe that TMZ‘s report is legit.

We may not know all of the casting decisions just yet, but Yovanna is going to be a Full Housewife … one with many enemies.

Gail "Yovanna" Momplaisir and Kandi Buruss

“This is a situation where I allowed my loyalty to a friend to go too far,” she explained at the Reunion.

Apparently, she was feeling so loyal towards NeNe that she would do anything for her.

In this case, that means spying upon the other Housewives.

NeNe spent many of the early weeks of Season 12 isolated from almost everyone.

“She saw it as an opportunity for me to find out if anybody was talking s–t about her,” Yovanna explained.

Though she has maintained that she did not record anyone, she did report back to NeNe.

(That first part it smart — in many places, recording people without their knowledge is very illegal)

Now, it seems, Yovanna feels that NeNe took advantage of her friendship and her loyalty in order to play games.

Now, everybody has an opinion, but ultimately it was Andy Cohen who asked an important question.

“Did she tell you to record conversations?” he asked Yovanna.

Without missing a beat, Yovanna replied to the host.

She told him: “Absolutely.”

The collective response was a lot of very stunned women.

These days, she and NeNe do not seem to be getting along, so we have to wonder how things will go down in Season 13.

In a recent interview, Andy Cohen spoke about how the RHOA Reunion really captured this moment in time very well. He’s right.

But we’re sure that fallout from it will continue to play out as filming picks up — whenever that may be.

Lizzo Matched Her Face Mask To Her Swimsuit With The New "Trikini" Trend

With the COVID-19 pandemic has emerged a new Summer trend: the trikini. What’s that, you ask? Well, it’s a bikini and a matching face mask — and it’s one of the newest and most memorable looks of summer 2020. If you’re lucky enough to have a pool where you’re quarantined, or you’re planning to sunbathe in your backyard or on your roof, a bikini and matching face mask is the perfect combination, right?

Lizzo certainly agrees, as the singer posted a poolside carousel to Instagram over Memorial Day Weekend, writing “Welcome to summer 2020.” In the two images, she is wearing a $180 swimsuit set including a pink palm-print bikini, a matching face mask, and gloves made of the same material, all from Thick by Robyn.

In response to Lizzo’s trikini moment, one commenter wrote, “Yes! Make masks and gloves hot so people actually wear them!” And yet another shared, “You are my favorite role model” with three heart emojis.

As tons of designers have been creating masks with fabric featuring their iconic prints, the trikini is only one of many innovative pieces to come. Unsurprisingly, Lizzo leads the way.

We only include products that have been independently selected by Bustle’s editorial team. However, we may receive a portion of sales if you purchase a product through a link in this article.

Kristen Bell reveals her 5-year-old daughter is still wearing nappies

Kristen Bell has revealed her five-year-old daughter is still wearing nappies.

The Frozen voice actress is mum to seven-year-old Lincoln and five-year-old Delta with husband Dax Shepard, and is open about the joys of the, in her own words, ’s*** show’ that is parenting.

And on the latest episode of Momsplaining with Kristen Bell, she admitted that she used to think potty training was easy before her youngest daughter came along.

Talking to Maya Rudolph and Casey Wilson, the Good Place star said: ‘My oldest daughter, at 21 months, we merely suggested that she use the toilet in the other room and [she] never wore another diaper beyond that.

‘We were lying in bed giggling about this, my husband and I, like, “Why does everyone make a big deal out of this potty training? It’s so easy. Just tell the kid to use the toilet”.

‘Currently, my youngest is 5½, still in diapers.’

Homeschool's going okay.

A post shared by kristen bell (@kristenanniebell) on

Maya said: ‘It’s real relative, isn’t it?’, with Kristen replying: ‘Yes, because every kid is so different.’

Kristen is keen to fight parent-shaming on the internet, and on Momsplaining, she proves time and time again that even being rich and famous doesn’t get your kids to listen to you.

On a previous episode, she discussed her experience of home-schooling Lincoln and Delta during lockdown – and it’s pretty relatable.

The star said: ‘When we started this quarantine, the first math worksheet I gave my daughter, in all the answer lines she wrote, “No. No. No. No. No.”

‘There are a few people that have come out victorious in this situation though. Germaphobes, stay-at-home moms, they’re all like, “I told you how f***ing hard this is.”’

And it’s not just the kids that are a struggle during lockdown, as Kristen and Dax have also been at each other’s throats.

Speaking on E!’s Daily Pop, Bell said: ‘We started quarantine needing a little marriage house cleaning.

‘We had a huge fight, and then we didn’t talk for three and a half days, and then we made up and now we’re fine.’

The couple, who tied the knot in 2013, are extremely open about their marital struggles, and recently, Kristen explained why.

She said: ‘We decided a long time ago that … there was sort of no getting around it.

‘We could try to take all questions about our relationship off the table for the rest of our lives, and just be incredibly boring, or we could sort of open the kimono — as they say — and allow people to see what our marriage is like.’

Judi Dench Thinks Her 'Cats' Costume Looked Like "Five Foxes F*cking on My Back"

You’re forgiven if you thought the most jaw-dropping info we’d get out of the Cats press run was Jason Derulo’s several comments about his anaconda-sized penis and all the “balls and bulges everywhere” on set. After all, his statements did come before Judi Dench graced the June cover of British Vogue and supplied us with the best Cats drag in history.

After recounting how fellow actress Olivia Colman said Judi “inspires warmth, kindness, naughtiness,” Vogue shifted the conversation to what continues to weigh on everyone’s minds months after the premiere: Cats. However, it’s clear the movie, which received a frosty reception among critics and a so-bad-it’s-sorta-good reaction from viewers, is a sensitive subject for Judi. In fact, she “visibly prickles at its mention.” Yikes! But also, same.

Judi, being ever so wise, hasn’t seen the movie yet, but she knows she didn’t like how her costume ended up looking. Letting out “cries,” she told the magazine, “The cloak I was made to wear! Like five foxes f*cking on my back.”

I mean, she’s not wrong.

And instead of looking as elegant as she’d imagined, Judi thought Old Deuteronomy just looked like “a battered, mangy old cat.” She continued, “A great big orange bruiser. What’s that about?” Truly, nobody knows what that whole movie was about let alone why the costumes looked like that.

But luckily for Judi, it seems like most people are focused on getting their hands on the “butthole cut” of the movie instead of analyzing her unfortunate cape. Silver lining!

Mum shares her three-step homemade KFC chicken recipe – and kids think it's BETTER than the real thing

WHAT'S the first thing you'll do when the lockdown is lifted? Rush over to see friends and family? Take your kids out for some fresh air?

Or head straight to your nearest KFC for your fried chicken fix? For us, it's all of the above.

⚠️ Read our coronavirus live blog for the latest news & updates

But until then, we have to make do with our own takes on our favourite fast food.

Fortunately, one savvy mum has shared her foolproof recipe for crispy KFC chicken – and her kids even think it's BETTER than the real thing.

Posting photos of her "fakeaway" the Facebook group Budget Friendly Meals Australia, the mum revealed how she started by soaking the chicken in buttermilk overnight.

But if you can't get find it in your local supermarket, Good To Know suggests mixing 250ml of milk with a tablespoon of lemon juice and allowing it to sit for five minutes beforehand.

How to make KFC chicken at home

  • six chicken breasts
  • three tablespoons white pepper
  • one tablespoon mustard powder
  • one tablespoon ground ginger
  • one tablespoon celery salt
  • one teaspoon oregano
  • one and a half teaspoons of basil
  • one and a half teaspoons of thyme
  • two tablespoons garlic salt
  • two tablespoons onion salt
  • four tablespoons of paprika
  • two cups of plain flour
  • milk and lemon juice for buttermilk

  • Soak the chicken in buttermilk overnight
  • Mix all the dry ingredients together in a bowl and coat chicken
  • Dry fry in frying pan with vegetable oil and put in oven on low heat for 10 minutes

Although it's tempting to skip this step, the acidity of the lemon juice makes the meat more tender while the milk is essential when you're coating it in the seasoning.

Following a recipe she'd seen posted in the group, the mum then compiled her dry ingredients in a bowl the following day.

She then coated the chicken in the mixture before deep frying it for 10 minutes until the chicken "started floating" – alternatively, you could cook the chicken in a frying pan with a generous amount of vegetable oil.

And just to make it extra crispy, she finished off by putting it in the oven for another 10 minutes.

Proudly posting photos of her KFC-inspired chicken, the mum wrote: "Kids said it was better than the real deal!"

What's more, other fast food fans have also been inspired to give this recipe a go after realising how simple it is.

One replied: "Looks amazing, well done!"

Another added: "I can't believe how close it is to the original!"

A third wrote: "I did this today but boiled the chicken first as i saw in another recipe. Worked out great."

  • She was enraged after her daughter was teased for being unmarried in her 30s
  • The family got into a heated argument with the neighbour after a mahjong game
  • Police is trying to help resolve the conflict between the Dais and the neighbour

This is the shocking moment an infuriated Chinese mother throws a neighbour to the ground after her daughter was taunted for being unmarried in her 30s.

The mother and daughter, known by their surname Dai, got into a gruesome street fight with their neighbour who had a row with the family over a game.

The Dais and their neighbour were detained by local police but failed to reach an agreement, according to the press. The incident is still under investigation.

The mother and daughter, known by their surname Dai, got into a gruesome street fight with their neighbour who had a row with the family over a game

The brutal fight took place on April 24 in the city of Changsha, Hunan province of southern China.

The father of the family, Mr Dai, got into a heated argument with his neighbour, known by her surname Yang, after playing the popular tile game of mahjong.

The tension was heightened after Mr Dai’s wife and daughter joined the row and started arguing with Ms Yang, Chinese media report.

Mrs Dai was exasperated by Ms Yang who teased her thirty-something-year-old daughter for failing to find a husband.

‘I just said, ‘you are over thirty years old and still not married off because you are so aggressive and mean’. That’s all I said,’ Ms Yang later told the press.

CCTV footage captures the Dais bashing Ms Yang’s head before the furious mother slamming her to the ground.

Local police were called to the scene by witnesses and detained the Dais and Ms Yang.

Mrs Dai said that she never hit her neighbour. ‘I was trying to lift her up but I couldn’t, so I let go,’ she told the local TV station.

The Dais were forced to confess their attack after the police showed them the surveillance footage.

But the two parties failed to reach an agreement to solve the conflict. The police are still handling the case, according to the press.

The file photo taken on November 3, 2019, shows the ‘marriage market’ at the People’s Park in Shanghai where parents try to find a partner for their unmarried sons or daughters

The term ‘leftover women’, also known as ‘sheng nv’, emerged in China after the Communist government ordered its feminist All-China Women’s Federation to use the derogatory term in several stinging articles about the growing number of educated and professional singletons aged 27-30 who were deemed ‘undesirable’.

‘Pretty girls do not need a lot of education to marry into a rich and powerful family. But girls with an average or ugly appearance will find it difficult,’ reads one article titled ‘Leftover Women Do Not Deserve Our Sympathy’ in 2013.

The derogatory name was picked up by the state media and stuck, causing an outcry among millions of ambitious young and educated females who claimed they were thrown on the scrap heap – and who bemoaned the low quality of suitors.

The singletons told how they are considered ‘leftover women’ by their parents if they are not settled down by the age of 25 who have accused them of being ‘picky’ and ‘free willed’.

All Lizzo Wants For Her Birthday Is For You To Be Nice To Yourself

The world may feel upside down right now, but Lizzo is doing her part to make sure her fans feel… well, good as hell. On Monday, April 27, the "Juice" singer shared a post on Instagram celebrating her birthday, but instead of sending love to herself, she’s asking fans to send love to themselves. And all Lizzo wants for her birthday is for you to be nice to yourself. Seriously, that’s it.

In celebration of turning 32, Lizzo shared a glam photo of herself to Instagram with the caption, "It’s my birthday, the best gift would be… say something nice about yourself in my comments and shake that ass ho." Her followers have been responding accordingly, including singer Ne-Yo, who responded, "I wanna unapologetically be who I am for the rest of my life HAPPY BDAY MAMA."

Lizzo’s unique birthday request is just one of many things she’s done to help people feel less alone since the novel coronavirus pandemic began shutting down the United States. Before she asked her fans to celebrate themselves on her special day, Lizzo hosted multiple live mediation sessions to promote a sense of calm, and joined in Global Citizen’s One World: Together at Home virtual concert with a rendition of Sam Cooke’s "A Change Is Gonna Come."

The "Good as Hell" singer has also been candid about the toll that quarantining has taken on people’s mental health. "This quarantine has a lot of people suffering from mental health issues because we can’t get out and do our normal coping/self-care routines," she captioned an Instagram post on April 21. "Self-hatred was starting to creep up on me but I gotta remember I’m 110% that b*tch, love you!"

During this difficult time, Lizzo has focused on finding ways to make the world feel just a little bit kinder, so it’s no surprise that she found a way to make her birthday about giving back. But don’t worry, she’s celebrating herself too. Early Monday morning, Lizzo shared a video on Instagram Story of herself singing along to Shelby Swain’s "B*tch It’s My Birthday." She followed that up by reposting her friends’ birthday messages to her, which included several odes to her twerking skills.

The three-time Grammy Award winner has been quick to acknowledge how hard it is not to celebrate big moments with friends at this time — on April 20, she shared a video of career highlights, writing in part in the caption, "It’s bittersweet not being able to celebrate our milestone year together."

Lizzo may not be working in the traditional sense right now, but even on her birthday, she’s keeping things positive and encouraging everyone to practice self-love.
