Sharing a selfie, Idris wrote: ‘Hoping everyone is coping with this [email protected]@!! Currently still quarantine.. Sab and I still feel ok so far with no changes. Dr told us that after quarantine we will be immune for a certain time since our antibodies fought this.’

‘At some point we’d like to go home to London. Bsafe.’

Idris also spent time replying to followers, telling one who asked if he had had any symptoms at all: ‘No not really… the day I got tested I had body aches and a headache.’

He told another fan that he thought he was on day 13 of the virus.

Speaking to fans: Idris also spent time replying to followers, telling one who asked if he had had any symptoms at all: ‘No not really… the day I got tested I had body aches and a headache.’

Idris appeared to confirm in a video message last week that he had contracted the virus from Canadian Prime Minister’s wife Justin Trudeau Sophie, 44, after the two met shortly before they both tested positive for COVID-19.

The actor revealed that he was exposed to the deadly disease on 4 March, the same day he posed with Sophie at the We Day UK charity event, in Wembley.

Idris said: ‘It’s hard to say when I got the disease or when I contracted COVID-19, it’s hard to say when. I will say that I know I’ve been exposed to it from March 4.

Also positive: Posting on Twitter on Thursday, the British actor said he and his wife Sabrina, who has also tested positive are ‘still feeling OK’

‘That’s when the person that came up positive, that was the time I got in contact with that person.

‘So essentially, I could have been positive from March 4, but it’s hard to say when I contracted someone with corona, you can contract it at anytime but my known exposure was March 4.’

Idris met Trudeau’s wife Sophie, who has also been tested positive for COVID-19, on 4 March at a We Day UK charity event, in Wembley.

Posing for photos together at the event, the pair were in close proximity to each other, as well as other celebrities such as Lewis Hamilton, and attendees.

Interaction: Idris appeared to confirm in a video message last week that he had contracted the virus from Canadian Prime Minister’s wife Justin Trudeau Sophie, 44, after the two met shortly before they both tested positive for COVID-19

Idris then addressed backlash as to why he was tested for COVID-19 after he had ‘no symptoms’ and ‘felt ok’.

‘I am on location about to start filming. The news breaks that this person, who is also in the public eye, has tested positive.’

Idris previously explained he was on location and about to start filming when he got tested: ‘It was definitely something I had to do as I was about to start filming and be around a lot of people,’ he said.

‘My job made me test immediately, I had to test anyway, as it meant I was putting a lot of people at risk if I had been exposed. We were lucky to get a test very quickly because of the shortages of the test.

Message: Idris confirmed he had tested positive for coronavirus in a social media video posted on March 16, with his wife choosing to remain by his side

‘It was the best thing to do, I was going to be around a lot of people starting this film.’

Earlier this week it was revealed Idris’ wife Sabrina Dhowre-Elba had also tested positive after choosing to remain with her husband in self isolation when he was diagnosed.

Defending their decision to isolate together following The Wire star’s diagnosis, she told Oprah Winfrey ‘I wanted to be with him’ and claimed she felt ‘the instinct of a wife’ to take care of him.

In an interview on Winfrey’s new Apple TV+ series Oprah Talks, the couple opened up about being quarantined together in New Mexico, where Elba’s latest film was in production.

Updates: Idris has been reassuring fans in regular updates that he has been feeling well

‘Actually, I found out this morning, Oprah, that I tested positive,’ Sabrina told the host on Facetime on Saturday.

Idris, 47, told Oprah, he ‘hasn’t witnessed any major symptoms’ and is ‘feeling okay.’

‘It’s interesting and worrying that people are possibly carrying this disease and are seemingly okay, but can spread it easily,’ he said of not being symptomatic.

Sabrina, who also feels healthy, said: ‘I don’t feel anything that would come to what people would now expect to be a symptom of coronavirus, which is really strange. It might change in the coming weeks, and we’ll keep everyone updated.’

To stay entertained in isolation, the pair are focusing on the ‘silver lining’ of spending quality time together and playing video games, chess and ‘staying creative.’

Keeping positive: The couple have been keeping themselves enterrtained with social media videos, chess and video games

Idris Elba slams ‘bulls***’ conspiracy theory that celebs are PAID to say they have coronavirus – The Sun

IDRIS Elba has hit out at a bizarre theory that celebrities have been paid to say they have coronavirus, calling it "bulls***".

The 47-year-old star, who has tested positive for the disease alongside his wife Sabrina, railed against the idea in an Instagram video last night.

⚠️ Read our coronavirus live blog for the latest news & updates

He said: “This idea that someone like myself is gonna be paid to say I’ve got coronavirus? That’s absolute bulls***.

"Such stupidness. People wanna spread that as if it’s news. That’s stupid.

“It’s the quickest way to get people sick because there’s no benefit to me and Sabrina sitting here saying we’ve got it if we ain’t got it. I don’t even understand the logic of that.”

It is not clear why celebrities would be paid to say they had coronavirus, but the theory has been advanced by the likes of rapper Cardi B.

Idris, who found fame in The Wire and Luther, also used the video to slam criticism celebrities have received for having being tested for coronavirus.

Many front-line staff in the UK are currently unable to know whether they have the disease or not because of a lack of testing kits.

But Idris insisted: "I think the debate about rich and poor and who’s getting it and who’s not, I think, is not a healthy debate.

"It’s like, I got a test but I also got Covid. Does that make me preferential? I don’t understand that.”

He added: "This isn’t a movie. I’m not an actor right now. I’m just a human being and I just happen to be in the public eye.

"So I want people to understand that this is very real.

"I don’t feel like I’m privileged because I got a test because I actually contracted it.”

Idris has been busy refusing theories circulating about him online ever seen he revealed he had tested positive for coronavirus.

Last week the star denied he was in a “critical condition” after a hoax video claimed the star was in intensive care following his coronavirus diagnosis.

On Sunday, 30-year-old Sabrina revealed she had also tested positive for the disease after self-isolating alongside the star in New Mexico, USA.

She insisted that she turned down the option of keeping away from Idris while he was infectious, saying: "I wanted to be with him".

‘I wanted to be with him’: Idris Elba’s wife Sabrina Dhowre-Elba tests POSITIVE for coronavirus as she defends decision not to self-isolate from the infected star

  • Idris tested positive for the coronavirus a week ago
  • He went into isolation with his wife, Sabrina Dhowre-Elba
  • He later defended the decision, saying the pair ‘had calculated the risk’
  • Sabrina has now tested positive, but said she had no regrets
  • Said she felt ‘the instinct of a wife’ to take care of Idris
  • Coronavirus symptoms: what are they and should you see a doctor?

Idris Elba’s wife Sabrina Dhowre-Elba has tested positive with the coronavirus, a week after her husband.

Sabrina also revealed her man has started learning the guitar and has been serenading her.

‘You know what? He’s not bad. I don’t mind him playing it. It’s kind of romantic,’ she gushed.

After the Luther star posted a video on Monday night confirming he has tested positive with the model next to him, the pair faced criticism for not keeping their distance.

Just four days ago, he posted a video addressing the ‘negative’ comments about choosing not to isolate himself from his wife, explaining they had ‘calculated the risk.’

Inseparable: Despite facing backlash for staying by her husband’s side, she told the television producer, ‘I wanted to be with him’ and felt ‘the instinct of a wife’ to take care of him

‘As much as we talked about her not coming to where I am, she did and wanted to and I love her even more for it and I would do the same for her,’ he said. ‘As much as I wanted her to keep safe, we presumed if I had it, the likelihood she would have it too, we calculated that risk,’ he went on.

‘When something like this is going on in the world, love is all you can get, who am I to turn down my wife’s support?’

The British actor, who wed his wife in 2019, urged his followers to spread love and advised families to follow guidelines but do what works best for them.

Elsewhere in the Tuesday night video, the father-of-two appeared to confirm he had contracted the virus from Canadian Prime Minister’s wife Justin Trudeau Sophie, 44, after the two met shortly before they both tested positive for COVID-19.

The actor revealed that he was exposed to the deadly disease on 4 March, the same day he posed with Sophie at the We Day UK charity event, in Wembley.

Although the star admitted that he is worried as he suffers from asthma, he added: ‘I have asthma, so I sort of fit into the high category of most at risk.

‘I have a respiratory issue and I have had asthma all my life. Catching corona was definitely not on my bucket list at all but even my asthma is OK.

‘Of course I’m worried. I’m worried about having the virus, I’m worried about having asthma and how that could make things really complicated for me really quickly.’

He reassured his followers that at present he is feeling fine, explaining: ‘Right now though, I am feeling okay. Woke up this morning, didn’t have any symptoms. My voice is a little tired…checking my fever twice a day. Feel good, feel okay. Been doing a lot of reading about it. You know, asymptomatic is what comes up,’ Idris explained about his status.

Idris Elba hints at how he possibly got coronavirus

On March 16, 2020, Idris Elba revealed his coronavirus diagnosis. Elba is just one of many famous folks who have tested positive for the virus during the international pandemic. Now, in an update that he shared on Twitter just days after receiving his test results, the star has revealed when he was likely exposed to the virus and may have inadvertently hinted at who might have given it to him (or at least gotten it at the same time).

“I know that I’ve been exposed to it from March 4,” Elba said in his video. “That’s when the person that came up positive, that was the time I got in contact with that person.” On that date, the English actor had attended an event for the WE Day charity at SSE Arena in Wembley, London, according to People magazine.

In Elba’s video, he confirmed that he “was told that someone that [he] had been in contact with had tested positive,” adding that he was tested when someone who is “also in the public eye” had been diagnosed with the virus. Although the star didn’t indicate that he had been infected by that person and refrained from naming who he was referring to, he was photographed at the WE Day event with Sophie Grégoire Trudeau, the wife of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. And, yes, Sophie is indeed sick.

Sophie Grégoire Trudeau shared a photo of herself with Idris Elba

Idris Elba and Sophie Grégoire Trudeau showed up to the same event on March 4, 2020, and the next day, she shared a photo of the pair on Instagram with a group of other people. “My heart is full after spending time working with my own family and the WE family,” she wrote. “Our message in London: Show yourself love and offer that same love to the world.”

Unfortunately, Grégoire Trudeau or someone else at the event may have already been infected with the novel coronavirus because, on March 12, 2020 news broke that she had tested positive for the illness. Just to be clear: It’s not known whether Grégoire Trudeau passed the illness to Elba or if they picked it up at the same time from someone else who was in attendance. Either way, it was a sad outcome for an event that was meant to be uplifting.

“She is feeling well, is taking all the recommended precautions and her symptoms remain mild,” an official statement regarding Grégoire Trudeau’s condition said, according to Global News. The message also noted that health care workers would be “reach[ing] out to those who have been in contact with Mrs. Grégoire Trudeau as they deem necessary.” We wonder if one of those people was Idris Elba.

The untold truth of Idris Elba’s wife, Sabrina Dhowre Elba

The story of Idris Elba and his wife, Sabrina Dhowre Elba, is nothing short of a fairytale. “It was love at first sight,” gushed the Cats actor to the ladies of The View. “I was making a movie called Mountains Between Us in Vancouver. I went out on my only day off, true story, it was a Sunday night, went to this party, and there she was … the rest was history.”

The duo got engaged in February 2018, a year after meeting. “We’ve been literally inseparable since we met,” Idris told Vogue after the couple’s wedding in Morroco in June 2019. “Sabrina has deepened friendships with people I’ve known longer than [her], nurturing the best side of me to make me connect to my friends more.”

Sure enough, Sabrina has stood by Idris through thick and thin — even after the actor’s coronavirus diagnosis in March 2020. The actor announced to his fans via Twitter that he had tested positive and was in self-isolation with his wife — who had not been tested or showed symptoms at the time. Although Sabrina may not be following best practices to fight off the disease, she certainly isn’t a celebrity spouse who sits in her husband’s shadow.

Here is the untold truth of Idris Elba’s wife, Sabrina Dhowre Elba.

Idris Elba's wife is a former Miss Vancouver

Idris Elba didn’t just meet a nice lady from Vancouver. He met the nice lady from Vancouver — as in Miss Vancouver 2014! According to Oprah Magazine, Sabrina Dhowre Elba grew up in the Canadian city and was already a staple in the press there before The Dark Tower actor entered her life, but with their powers combined, they’ve taken stardom to the next level.

Sabrina has been featured on the cover of British Vogue with her hubby, and she posed for a spread in Harrods (per Oprah Magazine). They’ve both become unofficial ambassadors for the city that brought them together. “I had a great time in Vancouver, I love it. The air was really good,” the Thor: Ragnarok actor gushed in 2017 (via The Georgia Straight). “The people are great in Canada … I’ve got nothing but love [for the country].”

Sabrina Dhowre Elba is more than just a pretty face

Sabrina Dhowre Elba is not a celeb spouse that hates being in the spotlight, but all that attention does take some getting used to. “I like sweatpants and having my hair in a bun,” the model revealed to Harper’s Bazaar in 2019. “It’s so weird to be increasingly recognized. In Selfridges the other day, I literally had to pretend I didn’t know who ‘Sabrina’ was. I felt so bad because the girl kept mentioning how much I looked like Mrs. Elba.”

Luckily for Elba, her makeup artist and longtime friend Jess DeBruyne is by her side. “Experimenting with skincare and make-up with Jess has been so inspiring, so we’re really interested in talking to people more about skincare and cosmetics. It’s so important to talk about your skin concerns and open up to each other so that we can educate ourselves.”

Elba is also sharing that knowledge with others. In 2020, she gave Elle the entire lowdown on her skincare and makeup routine, but while she has fun discussing makeup, it’s not her main goal professionally. “I’m also particularly interested in doing more philanthropic work and using this platform I’ve been given,” she told Harper’s Bazaar. “My mother was domestically abused and I think I could do a lot of good work in that regard, especially with my friends around me.”

Idris Elba and his wife are mixing business with pleasure

The Elbas love knows no bounds. In fact, this husband and wife team even opted to go into business together. According to the Daily Mail, the pair announced in February 2020 that it’s launching a lifestyle brand called Sable Labs, and its first project is a podcast titled Coupledom.

“We’d love to explore couples and relationships of all kinds under the topic of Coupledom — which is two people coming together to make a shared dream a reality,” Sabrina Dhowre Elba revealed in a press kit for the podcast. “My hope is that by listening to other partnerships, people will recognize themselves and their own relationships, finding common ground that they can apply to their own lives. We hope that Coupledom becomes an inspiring space to help one another grow.”

We have a feeling this podcast will be received well by their fans, especially since these two are genuinely trying to send a positive message. As Sabrina so succinctly put it in an Instagram post: “You shape your reality with other people, whether that be your romantic partner, your business partner, your friend, or your family member. We call this coupledom.”
