Tyson Fury vs Deontay Wilder trilogy fight could be held in Macau, China, dubbed the ‘Las Vegas of Asia’ later in 2020 – The Sun

THE trilogy fight between Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder could take place in Macau before the end of 2020.

It was reported earlier this week that Bob Arum informed Frank Warren of an offer from "the Far East" to host the bout.

And according to the Daily Star, the offer in question has come from Macau.

Dubbed the "Las Vegas of Asia", the special administrative region of China is a gambler's paradise – boasting a number of high-end casinos and five star hotels.

The fight would take place at the Cotai Arena within The Venetian complex on the famous Macao Strip.

Boasting a seating capacity of 15,000, the venue sits within a luxury hotel, casino and mall facility… and has hosted combat sporting events before.

In 2014, fans got to see a UFC Fight Night that included Brit Michael Bisping defeating Cung Le.

In addition to a number of high-profile concerts the venue, which opened in 2007, has also hosted tennis greats Roger Federer, Pete Sampras and Andre Agassi – as well as NBA exhibition games.

Macau's offer will have to boast at least eight-figures in order for fight organisers to consider bringing it to the region.

The third fight between the pair had initially been pencilled in for July 18 in Las Vegas, but such a move could make sense – with crowds likely to be banned until 2021 in the US and UK.

Fury's stunning seventh-round knockout of Wilder back in February raked in £13.8million – in gate receipts – a good proportion of the fight's revenue.

With a potential 15,000 attendance in such luxurious settings, there could be a lot of money to be made out of a trilogy bout that in truth – there isn't that much hunger for.

Many fans would like to see Wilder step aside in order to free up Fury for a Battle of Britain unification battle with Anthony Joshua.

But the Gypsy King himself has poo-pooed that idea… instead insisting that he'll "take Wilder's scalp again".

He told Mark Wright on an Instagram Live: "Well Wilder's got a rematch clause so.

"Some newspaper reported that he wanted £10million to step aside.

"I'm not paying him no money to step aside… I'd rather take his scalp again.

"I'll beat him in the ring and that's how I'll get him out the way. I wouldn't pay him £2m to step aside.

"I'd rather give him another battering, again. I'm gonna take him out again for a third time, hopefully end of the year, and then we're going to go into 2021 for the biggest fight in boxing history between two British heavyweights – me and AJ.

"We're going to battle it out for all the gold."

Anthony Joshua vs Kubrat Pulev could take place in front of 2,000 fans in UK as part of ‘funky’ Eddie Hearn plan – The Sun

ANTHONY JOSHUA'S fight against Kubrat Pulev could take in place in front of just 2,000 fans in the UK as part of Eddie Hearn's "funky" plans for boxing's restart.

Joshua's heavyweight bout against IBF mandatory challenger Pulev was set to take place at Tottenham's new stadium next month.

But coronavirus KO'd that plan and a new date and venue has yet to be announced with much of the sporting world still on hold.

There have also been rumours that Joshua and his Matchroom team are hoping Pulev steps aside so their man can face Tyson Fury in an undisputed heavyweight clash.

But Hearn expressed no such desire when talking on the Pug and Copp Boxing Show podcast.

Rather, he said he is hungry to still get the fight done and has not totally ruled out the chance of it taking place in the UK.

The Matchroom boss said: "We've had approaches from the Middle East, Croatia, China as well.

"There is also the possibility that some kind of crowds could open up sooner than a stadium.

"So could you do 2,000, 5,000, 10,000? Maybe we could something funky in the UK with a small, select crowd of people.

"We're open to options. I had a call with AJ and he's in great spirits. He's accepted 2020 will only see one fight, which for him is a bit frustrating.

"The sole ambition now of 2020 is get the Pulev fight away, win that and in the meantime the Fury fight signed for two fights next year."

Pulev – who has been accused of cheating by his ex-girlfriend – recently claimed WBA, WBO and IBF king Joshua is running "scared" of him.

He said: "I can't understand why we are still postponing instead of fixing a date and venue and getting to work? I can't wait to win this fight.

"A year has passed, and they always have a reason to postpone, not to fight against me.

"There are two options. You either fight or vacate the title."

Brandy vs. Monica: Who Has The Higher Net Worth?

With the push for Brandy and Monica to be the next pair of singers to take on a “Verzuz battle,” the longstanding comparisons between the artists don’t appear to be close to dying down anytime soon. Both rose to megastardom in their early teens and had similar musical influences and sounds. Naturally, the media would compare and attempt to pit the two women against each other. And after their hit collaboration with “The Boy Is Mine,” the comparisons only increased. Both are considered icons, but which one has the higher net worth?

    Brandy’s career

Brandy’s career took off when she was just 14-years-old with her multi-platinum self-titled debut album in 1994. But even before her debut release, Brandy was already on her way, appearing in sitcoms like We Are Family and Thea. She was nominated for Best New Artist at the 1995 Grammy Awards and though she did not take home the prize, her career continued to rise.

Just two years after her debut release, she was catapulted into the mainstream as the star of the breakout hit UPN sitcom, Moesha. The show aired for six seasons and followed the growing pains of a young African-American teenager in L.A. The success of the show only added to Brandy’s popularity and during the show’s peak, she released her second studio album, Never Say Never. The album sent her into crossover success and became her highest-selling and highest-charting album in her career.

She released four more studio albums throughout her career, all of which were successful. But Brandy’s career has been expansive thanks to her impressive acting chops and even branding and merchandise. She made history by becoming the first black singer to be the face of Covergirl, had several Barbie dolls in her honor, a popular fan club.

She further expanded her resume with stints in Broadway shows, including starring as Roxie Hart in Chicago. She starred alongside icons, including Whitney Houston and Diana Ross in television films, while also being cast as a recurring cast member on hit shows including The Game on BET and landing her own sitcom once again with Zoe Ever After. She’s currently working on her seventh studio album.

    Monica’s career

Monica’s debut release came a year after Brandy’s. She signed her first deal when she was just 13-years-old and her debut album, Miss Thang, was released when she was 15 in 1995. The album yielded two chart-topping singles and was eventually certified three times platinum by the RIAA.

It would be her second album, The Boy Is Mine, released in 1998 that marked her biggest success on an international scale and had crossover hits with singles like “Angel Of Mine” – as well as “For You I Will,” which was included on the soundtrack to Space Jam.

To date, she’s released eight studio albums. Her only album to debut at number one was 2003’s After The Storm, which landed at the top of the Billboard 200.

Aside from music, Monica has done a little acting. Her debut was in the MTV produced film Love Song in 2000. She’s also had guest appearances in Living Single, ATL, and Pastor Brown. Her main television arena has been reality television. She had her own BET reality series, Monica: Still Standing, and has been part of the ensemble cast of T.I.’s VH1 family series Friends & Family Hustle since the beginning.

    Brandy and Monica’s joint achievements

Though they’ve had individual success, their greatest success has been together. Brandy and Monica’s 1998 collaboration of “The Boy Is Mine” was not only their biggest hit, spending 13 weeks at number one on the Billboard chart – but it also earned them their first and only Grammy award to date.

Their 2012 follow up, “It All Belongs To Me,” did not have even close to the same success but proved that they make great music together. Past tension between the two has caused their long breaks in working together, despite fans’ wish for them to continue to do so. But both now maintain that they are open to the possibilities.

Does Brandy or Monica have a higher net worth?

As an artist, Monica has had more success in urban markets rather than in mainstream media. Brandy has had more success with her music across charts, as she’s had more crossover appeal. Fans also argue that Brandy also has a bigger brand in terms of the way in which she has been marketed in her career with merchandising and such.

Brandy’s entertainment profile is more versatile, as he’s an accomplished actor and stage performer with her television, film, and Broadway credits. Monica, on the other hand, has focused primarily on music and touring. She’s a constant presence on the road, whether as part of an ensemble tour with other artists or solo.

Celebrity Net Worth lists Monica’s net worth at $15 million, while Brandy’s estimation is between $14 and $16 million. It appears that both have been equally as profitable as the other in their respective lanes.

Regardless, both paved the way for a new generation of artists and at a time where young Black girls needed an image of themselves, both Brandy and Monica filled the gap.

Tiger Roll vs Red Rum: Who wins in the battle of the champions?

Tiger Roll vs Red Rum. No-one ever thought the clash of all clashes could happen, but here it is!

ITV’s Virtual Champion of Champions race tomorrow evening will see a duel between the two Grand National greats.

It would be disrespectful to all the other former winners in the race to say they are not more than worthy of their place, but really the public wants to see one thing – who would win if Tiger Roll and Red Rum both turned up to Aintree at their very best?

History says the latter is the greatest of all time over the big fences, but none of his three victories were as visually impressive as Tiger Roll’s.

However, the race has changed significantly since the seventies, and Tiger Roll has arguably beaten a higher calibre of opposition.

The clash is fascinating, and is almost more intriguing than the actual race itself.

Betfair has stepped up to the mark and is offering a market on the contest, with Tiger Roll just shading favouritism ahead of Red Rum.

The pair are a long way clear, but others to note further down the betting are Many Clouds, Don’t Push It, Party Politics and Hedgehunter.

All profits on the race will go to the NHS, so there’s every reason to get involved!

The contest will be run after the Virtual Grand National 2020, which you can watch on ITV at 5pm.

Khabib vs Ferguson to be held with ’10 people in room’ as Dana White blasts ‘wimpiest’ media for calls to cancel UFC 249 – The Sun

DANA WHITE has insisted Khabib Nurmagomedov vs Tony Ferguson will go ahead with "10 people in the room"

The UFC boss went on to blast "wimpiest" critics who have called for the fight to be axed amid the coronavirus pandemic.

⚠️ Read our coronavirus live blog for the latest news & updates

As the deadly COVID-19 bug sweeps the globe with over 11,500 deaths worldwide, major sporting events have been cancelled or postponed.

The UFC were forced to backdate their next three Fight Night events, but are adamant Nurmagomedov vs Ferguson – set for April 18 – will still take place, but not likely in New York or even America.

The MMA promotion has received criticism for refusing to cancel the event, but promoter White insisted the right thing to do is allow the fighters to compete with the correct medical testing and make sure they are still paid.

He said on Instagram: "Go online and look at some of these people – and this isn’t a knock, this is just a fact – the weakest, wimpiest people on earth cover the biggest, baddest sport on earth.

“I have over 350 employees who work for me. Multi-billion-dollar companies are laying off all their employees right now. We haven’t laid off one person at the UFC.

"And every fighter that fights for me will fight three times this year. Our schedule will go on. Everybody’s gonna get paid, and we will figure this out, and we will be the first sport back on.

“Listen, the media can talk as much s*** as they want. They don’t feed families. They don’t take care of f***ing people. They don’t have people that count on them. They don’t have people to support.

"We’re doing the right thing as far medical testing goes and everything. That’s all we f***ing do. That’s nothing new. We were doing that shit way before the coronavirus.

"We were taking care of people and making sure that everybody’s healthy, and every fighter that’s with me on the road is getting much better medical attention than they are at home – if they’re with me. You know what I mean?

“I told our whole roster: If you or your loved ones have any type of situations or anything wrong, call me. I’ll do everything in my power to make sure you get taken care of.”

The UFC were forced to stage their event in Brazil behind closed doors last weekend, but MMA Fighting reported fighters were not being tested for COVID-19.

White revealed he will follow the advice of President Donald Trump by having no more than 10 people present while Nurmagomedov defends his unbeaten record and lightweight belt against Ferguson.

He explained to ESPN: “We’re gonna follow these guidelines to not have more than 10 people in a room and we’re hoping that this all clears up by April.

“This fight’s going to happen, no crowd, whatever it takes. [It’s] probably not going to even be in the United States but this fight’s going to happen.”
