A Quiet Place Part II has just hit cinemas and already fans are desperate to know when a third film will come out. John Krasinski, the film’s director, has planted some Easter eggs in the movie so it could point to a third instalment. But does the ending do the same, and if so, what happened?
WARNING: Spoilers for A Quiet Place Part II ahead
In the first film, as fans will remember, the Abbott family are trying to escape deadly creatures, who are blind and guided by sound.
As a result, they have insulated their home so they can speak inside it, but everywhere else they must stay quiet to avoid detection.
At the beginning of A Quiet Place Part II, they take us back to before the horrendous alien invasion took place, when the family, including their deceased son Beau, were at a baseball game when disaster struck.

This means, for fans devastated by Lee’s (played by John Krasinski) death, he does return to the franchise for just a short moment in this flashback.
In the present, Regan (Millicent Simmonds) had just realised her hearing aid could be used to ward off the creatures as they become weakened by it.
So, as A Quiet Place Part II begins, the family are forced to leave their terrorised home with a newborn baby to try to find shelter or other humans to help them.
Regan has a guitar amp and microphone so she is ready to defeat any creatures which come their way with her implant.
As the story goes on and they are forced to fight against terrifying foes, Regan becomes the family’s new leader in many ways and saves the day on countless occasions.
Soon, they meet Emmett (Cillian Murphy), an old friend of Lee’s who has an underground bunker, but it lacks the oxygen supply needed for everyone.
This is the beginning of some frightening scenes for Evelyn (Emily Blunt) and Marcus (Noah Jupe) as they struggle to get enough oxygen to breathe, while also trying to escape some deadly creatures who are stalking them.
Meanwhile, Regan has run away to an island in the hope of sharing her new-found knowledge about how to subdue the creatures, as well as finding a new home for her family.
Emmett catches up with her, and the pair try to share their knowledge with those on the island, who are seemingly living a normal life.
Their leader (Djimon Hounsou) explains how the National Guard brought people to the island after realising the creatures cannot swim, but they attacked when those trying to reach the island started to fight, meaning their boats were destroyed.
Nevertheless, a creature manages to use a boat and get to the island and starts killing civilians.
At this, Regan’s plan comes into action when she uses a radio tower to play her hearing aid’s frequency, allowing her to kill the creature.
Marcus is able to do the same when he realises his sister has put her implant on the radio, so he tunes into the frequency and does the same thing to save his mother and younger sibling.
Regan leaves the hearing aid at the radio tower so people can tune into the right frequency to stop the creatures.
Here, the film ends, but there seems to be the possibility for a third film given the revelation about the creatures being unable to swim, and the island of fellow survivors.
Fans will no doubt hope John can come up with a third film and bring it to the cinema soon.
