Ant and Dec reunite with Britain’s Got Talent judges for epic trailer as show returns despite coronavirus crisis – The Sun
ITV has dropped the first trailer for the 2020 series of Britain's Got Talent as the show prepares to return to screens despite the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
The trailer features the nation's best performers exploding with gold confetti as news of the show's return reverberates around the country, before we get our first glimpse of the judges.
Simon Cowell, David Walliams, Alesha Dixon and Amanda Holden are seen walking into a hotel before they bump into show hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly who are in standing in a lift surrounded by confetti.
"He's quite excited," says an exasperated Ant as Dec releases more confetti in the air.
The spread of deadly Covid-19 has forced show bosses to act as the virus continues to wreak havoc on the entertainment industry.
The Sun exclusively revealed that ITV will air the audition rounds but has postponed the live shows due to the coronavirus crisis.
A source told The Sun Online: "They have no idea when the live shows will take place as it depends on government guidelines and advice.
"At the moment they would like them to happen in September, but that will entirely depend on how quickly things are back to normal."
The auditions were filmed across the country in January and February.
In a statement last week, ITV revealed: "The Britain’s Got Talent audition shows are due to be broadcast in the next few weeks as planned."
"We are also working with our production colleagues to see how we can make the BGT live shows work in an ever-changing situation and we will update on this in due course," it concluded.
