Emmerdale star responds to body shaming trolls after fans bit back

Emmerdale actress Charley Webb has hit back at body shaming trolls after fans rushed to her defence on social media.

The Debbie Dingle actress posted a carefree video to Instagram which saw her dancing with friends, explaining in the caption that she was ‘At my friends BBQ celebrating another year of them with the same old moves.’

Unfortunately, some trolls saw the post as an opportunity to make comments about the star’s weight, with one saying: ‘Looks like those legs could snap any minute.’

‘Sorry your legs are to skinny.’ Another cruelly said.

However, fans of the actress were quick to jump to her defence, shaming the trolls for the nasty comments.

One fan caught the attention of Charley herself, after commenting how people are made to feel as though nothing they do can ever be right.

‘So.. posts a video having fun, she’s ‘too thin’; posts ads, too many ads; potentially puts weight on, must be pregnant; pics of kids, shouldn’t expose them; no pics, ‘where’ve you gone’!! Is it any wonder people feel they can do no right!’ They said.

Charley clearly agreed with the comment, replying ‘innit’ with a peace sign emoji.

Luckily, there were plenty of positive comments too, with one fan saying ‘Lovely photos, keep having fun!’

‘Wow you got some moves woman, go girl.’ Another said.

Charley left Emmerdale in 2019, before making a brief return in 2020, where Debbie was revealed as Al Chapman’s mystery woman.

Since leaving the show, she has appeared in BBC drama Better in the role of Elise.

She was also spotted filming for a new seven-part series about the Yorkshire Ripper in 2022, called the Long Shadow.

Though there is currently no official air date for the series, it is set to star Coronation Street’s Katherine Kelly and Emmerdale’s Michael Parr.

Charley recently got Emmerdale fans excited as she reunited with some of her co-stars to celebrate ’20 years of friendship’.
