Jamie’s (played by Alex Lincoln) family finally discovered he had in fact faked his death in a car accident a year ago. In Tuesday’s Emmerdale episode, his shocked mother Kim Tate (Claire King) angrily stated her son doesn’t care about his two children, but schoolgirl Millie (Willow Belle) overheard her. Kim tried to apologise and explain her dad does love her, but the youngster remained upset. Later, she told her baby brother Thomas that they would find their dad. When Kim later tried to find her, she was gone. Could tragedy strike as the little girl is killed while looking for her father?

Discussing her troubled son with Will Taylor (Dean Andrews), Kim admitted: “I’ve never been under any illusion about what he’s capable of.

“But seeing him board that ship… abandoning the son he’s never met and his daughter, who he professes to love.

“Scurrying away like some filthy sewer rat. I may not wish him dead, but you’re right about needing closure.

“Gather everyone together, there’s something I have to say.”

Later, when everyone had joined her, Kim explained what had happened.

“So, he’s out of the country?” asked Gabby Thomas (Rosie Bentham).

As the others began to fume about Jamie’s scheming, Kim commented: “Okay, that’s enough.”

She continued: “I want that to be the last mention of his name in this house, do you all understand?

“I want every trace of him erased once and for all. Every photo, every last item he left behind, burn it if you have to.

“He may still be alive, but he’s out of all our lives for good.

“Let us be under no illusion here – it was Jamie who made the decision to leave this family, to abandon his children in favour of punishing me – that’s how twisted he is.

“That’s how much he never loved Millie. As for Thomas, he cares even less.”

Kim had no idea that Millie was standing by the door listening though.

She barged in and shouted: “Shut up, shut up – I hate you, granny. Daddy’s right, you’re evil.”

Kim later tried to explain herself to the young girl, but she didn’t want to make amends with her grandmother.

Talking to Thomas later, Mille stated: “Daddy loves us, Thomas, and we’ll find him again.”

When Kim went to call Millie for dinner afterwards, she was nowhere to be seen.

A panicked Kim noticed the youngster had taken her favourite things with her, so had likely run away.

Clearly trying to find Jamie, Millie could have gone anywhere.

She knew her dad had left on a boat, so might think she can try to do the same.

However, the vulnerable girl had left in the evening, meaning she will soon be wandering around in the dark.

She could get herself into danger due to being exposed to the elements and the cold weather.

It could be that things take a tragic turn and young Millie ends up dying after becoming lost and confused.

Alone on the Yorkshire Dales, she could become ill due to the cold and pass out.

If nobody is able to locate her in time, the Emmerdale child might die.

If Millie does die, Jamie will probably return to the soap.

Although he has abandoned her along with the rest of his family, Jamie always seemed to genuinely care for Millie when he was around.

As news of the tragedy spreads, he will probably return to the village.

No doubt blaming Kim for what happened, it’s possible the two will finally have a huge showdown.

Emmerdale continues on Wednesday at 7.30pm on ITV.
