Janette Manrara has been having to watch husband Aljaz Skorjanec from afar on this year’s Strictly Come Dancing as the pro-dancer now fronts spin-off show, It Takes Two. Aljaz has been wowing the judges and BBC viewers alike alongside Dragons’ Den star Sara Davies and the two even topped the leaderboard in Week Four. Ahead of Week Five, Aljaz popped into the It Takes Two studio with Sara to speak to Janette about their upcoming dance, but the conversation was soon derailed courtesy of a message from one of the Strictly team.

The moment came after Aljaz and Sara discussed their feelings about receiving four nines from the judges on Saturday.

Janette asked her beau: “Aljaz, I know you have been trying for years to get Por Una Cabeza from Scent of a Woman for one of your tangos, you finally got it.

“It was amazing, did it live up to what you expected it to be?”

A beaming Aljaz began to reply: “I think it was that and more, it was from one of my all-time favourite films -“

However, Aljaz stopped himself mid-sentence when he saw himself on the screen.

And Aljaz had his eye caught by the tagline written under his name by one of the It Takes Two production crew.

“One second,” Aljaz interjected before reading aloud: “‘Your wife was asking for Harry Styles’ number yesterday’.”

Gasps and laughter erupted in the studio as Aljaz began to look puzzled and shocked.

“Who put that! Who!” Janette snapped before Aljaz shouted: “That has actually happened before actually in reality so… not funny!

“Heartbroken,” he joked before trying to get the conversation back on track.

Answering Janette’s question, Aljaz said: “Anyway, do you know what it’s one of my all-time favourite films and if you watch that film and that scene is so iconic, it’s such a moment.

“And when I finally got that song over the line, I felt immense pressure.”

Turning to Sara, Aljaz delved further: “I love choreographing for you, I love dancing with you but then to add that, sort of, on top of that from that film, it was such a huge pressure for me.

“And after the dance finished, the relief I felt that we did us justice, I did you justice with the steps and then justice to the film and then the song, it was just a beautiful moment.”

Aljaz and Sara will be hoping they can impress again in Week Five with their Rumba.

The duo will be aiming for the top spot once again as they take on the dance to Shania Twain classic, You’re Still the One.

However, one person who won’t be taking part in Week Five of the BBC contest is Loose Women’s Judi Love.

She and Graziano di Prima will be given a bye week after Judi tested positive for COVID-19.

Judi said in a statement on Twitter: “Hey my lovelies it’s with great disappointment that I willl not be performing this weekend @bbcstrictly due to testing positive with Covid 19.

“Hoping to make a speedy recovery & dance for you next weekend. Stay safe & thank you for your well wishes #JudiLove #Strictly.”

Strictly Come Dancing returns to BBC One on Saturday at 7:05pm.
