Mel C’s brother Paul takes swipe at Victoria Beckham ahead of Gogglebox debut

Mel C's little brother Paul O'Neill left the Spice Girl open mouthed after making a playful swipe at Victoria Beckham while on Wednesday's edition of The One Show.

The racing driver joined Mel on the hit BBC programme to talk about them signing up for the new series of Celebrity Gogglebox.

Mel and Paul will join a host of famous faces on the hit Channel 4 show which kicks off this Friday.

Asked by hosts about a time he 'saved David Beckham' while on tour, the cheeky lad replied: "Yeah, I saved him from his wife."

Laughing, Mel looked on opened mouthed as Paul added:" No i'm joking. She won't watch this."

He chuckled: "David, send it to her."

Paul then went on to recall how he hung out with the sporting legend while the Spice Girl were on tour in Amsterdam.

Admitting he found it tough having a superstar sister growing up, Paul said: "I was 16 so I was leaving high school and going to collage and I had people doing flying kicks at me in track pants.

"It grinded on me. I am not going to say it was difficult but it was quite hard and people were taking the mickey all the time."

Initial plans had been for the Spice Girls to reunite for a world tour in 2021 but the ongoing pandemic put a stop to that.

Hinting they could return to the road once the restrictions have lifted, Mel said: "So we toured in 2019 and it was an incredible with the stadium shows and we had an amazing experience.

"We thought we need to do more we want to do more.

"This year is 25 years since wannabe so it would have been perfect to do more dates but little bit of a delay with that.

"I should be on a solo tour as I put out an album at the end of 2020 but that is now delayed until January/ February 2022."

"I have had this incurable carer but when I am on a show like this or ever being filmed you are kind of 'on' but then when you are sat with your annoying little bother [filming Gogglebox] I think 'am I going to be a bit too relaxed?'.
