Piers Morgan enjoys a pint with son Spencer at pub as he celebrates 40 years of boozing at his local

PIERS Morgan enjoyed a pint with his eldest son Spencer yesterday as he marked 40 years of boozing at his local pub.

The Good Morning Britain star raised a glass of his favourite beverage, Harvey's Best Bitter, outside The Royal Oak in Newick.

He wrote: "Celebrating my 40th year of drinking in this pub. That’s a LOT of Harvey’s…. 🍺 🥳."

Spencer, dressed casually in a tee, opted for a lighter lager.

Even though he's still on his summer holidays, Piers has still managed to engage in high-profile Twitter spats – and it looks to be thirsty work.

Over the weekend he taunted movie star Bette Midler- after she told him to "f**k off".

The pair, who have a history of social media rows, clashed after he demanded Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have their royal titles removed.

It came after Piers posted a Sun Online video showing Meghan appearing to take a dig at President Donald Trump ahead of the US election by saying: “We all know what’s at stake.”

She and Prince Harry are still known as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, despite stepping down as senior members of the royal family this year.

But 55-year-old Good Morning Britain host Piers wrote: "Queen must strip the Sussexes of their titles.

"They can’t remain as royals & spout off about foreign elections in such a brazenly partisan way."

But Bette replied simply: "Oh, f**k off.

Piers decided the best reply was to taunt her with the advice, often quoted on Twitter: "#BeKind 🙏."

It is not the first time the TV star has found himself under fire from Hocus Pocus and Beaches star Bette over Meghan Markle.

Tweeting him in January, the 74-year-old star wrote: "You, Piers, said things that were worse than critical about the Duchess, you were utterly vicious about her.

"What does she owe you? Attacking her because you didn’t get your interview!?! #Meghan and #Harry are 1/2 your age. Shame on you."

Fans were split on the issue of whether Meghan deserved to lose her title, though many backed the TV star's original post.

One wrote: "I don’t agree with you on much, Piers.

"In fact, I can’t stand you most days. But I do agree with you on this issue with Meghan Markle. She shouldn’t be able to use her title for political issues."

However, others insisted Meghan has taken up residence in the TV star's head "rent free" given the amount he writes about her – suggesting Piers turn his ire towards other issues.
