Geoff Metcalfe (Ian Bartholomew) goes to extreme lengths to take back control from Alya Nazir (Sair Khan) in Coronation Street, and he does so in the form of sabotaging Speed Daal.
With Geoff having proven just how twisted he really is, Alya has been more determined than ever to stay out of his way.
Doing so has been somewhat tricky given that they both work at Speed Daal, but the young woman has remained steadfast in her position — and even prevented him from entering the premises a couple of weeks ago.
However, despite Alya’s threats, Geoff turns up at Speed Daal in the coming episodes, and makes clear that he’s intending on sticking around — much to Alya’s dismay.
Alya once again reveals her position on the matter — ordering him to get out — but Geoff refuses to leave, and wastes little time in pointing out that he legally has every right to be there.
Alya is devastated, but the abuser continues to make things worse, as he reveals that he’s applied for an alcohol licence.
However, Alya reminds him that he needs Yasmeen’s (Shelley King) permission in order to do so, but will he listen?
That remains to be seen, but Alya is horrified later in the week when she discovers a delivery of alcohol on Speed Daal’s doorstep.
The young woman is hellbent on holding onto the business, and therefore refuses to allow Geoff to buy her out.
Determined to win, Geoff then decides to sabotage the restaurant — and he does so by cancelling shifts.
Alya is therefore left struggling alone with the takeout orders and — seeing red — she throws everyone out of the premises, before proceeding to smash the place up in a frenzy.
Has Geoff succeeded in his mission?
