Emmerdale has given us a first look at the upcoming crash sequence, involving Nicola King and Moira Dingle’s respective vehicles.

The collision takes place later this week, with Nicola taking it upon herself to drive daughter Angel to the dentist after Jimmy (Nick Miles) fails to do so, with thoughts of making things right with Tom (James Chase) on his mind.

The above clip, taken from Thursday’s (May 25) hour-long offering of the ITV soap, sees Nicola on the way to the dentist with Angel in the back seat.

Angel discusses her desire to get braces, commenting that all of her friends have them, but Nicola claps back, saying that braces are not a ‘fashion accessory’ and she’s not getting them in she doesn’t need them.

Things get heated between the two, as Nicola vents her frustrations, keeping a watchful eye on the road and her surroundings, but an unsighted junction leads to horror.

Moira’s vehicle collides with Nicola’s, with both women left reeling and in shock following the crash, struggling to process what has transpired. Subsequent scenes will see a showdown ensue, with Nicola wanting answers about what happened.

Attention, however, soon turns to Angel, who is unconscious and trapped in the back of Nicola’s crushed car.

Nicola, with Moira’s help, manages to get the door open, but will it be too late? Will Angel manage to pull through? Or is there more heartbreak on the cards for the local councillor?

Moira, meanwhile, has had a lot on her plate as of late, with her having decided to sell the farm to Kim Tate (Claire King), unaware that Caleb Milligan (William Ash) has been trying to sabotage her every move in a bid to see through his plot to destroy Kim.

Emmerdale airs these scenes Thursday May 25 at 7:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
