Tiger King: What does Joshua Dial think of Joe Exotic and Tiger King? ‘A conspiracy’

All eight episodes of Tiger King are available to stream and download on Netflix now. The man at the centre of the series, Joe Exotic, is currently serving 22 years in prison for the murder-to-hire plot against his rival Carole Baskin, the owner of Big Cat Rescue. Viewers can still not believe that Exotic launched a presidential bid as well as running for Governor of Oklahoma in 2016, with the help of Joshua Dial.

What does Joshua Dial really think of Joe Exotic and Tiger King on Netflix?

As seen in Tiger King on Netflix, Joshua Dial was working as a Walmart Manager when Joe Exotic approached him to work on his presidential campaign in 2016.

At the time, Dial had recently graduated from the University of Science and Arts in Oklahoma with a degree in Political Science.

Dial believed helping Exotic would get him the experience he needed to pursue his career in politics.

When the presidential campaign fell through, Exotic decided he was going to run for Oklahoma governor in 2017/18.

At this point, Exotic appointed Dial to run his entire campaign.

In the end, Exotic received 664 votes finishing in third place out of three candidates in the Libertarian primary and in June 2018, Dial resigned from the campaign.

Speaking on The Domenick Nati Show recently, Dial said he believed that Joe had been framed by Jeff Lowe and the federal government. He even said there had been a “conspiracy” to take the zoo.

Joe Exotic is currently serving 22 years in prison for the murder for hire plot to kill his rival Carole Baskin alongside other animal rights violation charges.

Exotic continues to maintain his innocence.

His former business partner Jeff Lowe and James Garretson acted as informants against him and unknown to Joe, he had recruited an undercover FBI agent to carry out the murder-to-hire plot.

Dial said: “I believe they did [frame Joe Exotic to get him out of the park]. All the evidence they used in the case, all the facts they are out there for anyone who wants to gather them and look at the evidence objectively.

“You have to step back from the whole situation, take away your preconceived notions and your feelings about Joe and Jeff and the whole animal industry and just ask yourself ‘is it ok for the federal government to entrap you into committing a crime?’ I don’t believe the answer is yes.”

He added: “I believe it was a conspiracy to take the zoo and the federal government played along.”

On Thursday, March 26, Exotic announced he was going to sue the US Federal Wildlife Service and the US Department of Interior, for $78.84million [£66m].

He is also suing Jeff Lowe, his former business partner and another colleague, for $15million [£12m].

According to a post on his official Facebook page, he is also seeking a presidential pardon from Donald Trump.

When asked if Trump should pardon Exotic, Dial responded: “I would have to say no.”

He added: “But, I do believe he [Trump] sought for clemency for Joe Exotic and I would not be surprised if he has got people in the White House working on internal polls just to see what kind of bump in the polls he might get if he did offer clemency or a pardon for Joe Exotic. So I definitely think it is possible.

“I think he should consider clemency, the guy has an auto-immune disease and 22 years [in prison] does seem like an awfully long time for someone his age.”

As for his relationship now with Exotic, Dial said he is still mad at him for not attending his trial.

As seen and heard in Tiger King, Tiger King and I and in many other interviews, Dial has insisted he would not work for Exotic again.

Today, Dial works at a grocery store and revealed he and other cast members of Tiger King have not received any payment from Netflix for appearing in the docuseries or any other documentaries surrounding Joe Exotic.

As for the world’s most talked-about person from the series, Carole Baskin, Dial confessed he thought Carole was behind the documentary the entire time because of filmmakers Eric Goode and Rebecca Chaiklin asked him positive questions about her.

Baskin is the owner of Big Cat Zoo, a sanctuary for big cat’s and Joe Exotic’s rival.

Not only did Exotic believe Baskin was going to take his G.W Zoo away from him, but he also accused her of being behind her husband, Don Lewis, disappearance several times in the documentary.

Baskin has denied any involvement in her husband’s disappearance.

Dial said: “I think Carole was portrayed correctly. I stand by basically what I said in the last 10 minutes of the series.

“All of the money, all of this time, all these volunteers and all of these years that we will never get back.

“This whole time we could have spent that time preserving the actual natural habitat of tigers. Instead, all we have done is contributed to making a number one Netflix series.”
