Cops hailed for helping to deliver baby after pulling over uninsured car

TWO cops helped deliver a baby after pulling over a car for no insurance.

The driver’s motor had been flagged on their system though he insisted he had insured it earlier.

His pregnant wife then called him to say she had just gone into labour.

PCs Sandra Payne and James Condon dashed straight to the couple’s home on Friday.

They then helped safely deliver baby Harris before paramedics took over in Northampton.

Chief Inspector Tom Thompson said: “I would like to extend my thanks to Sandra and James.

"Their actions ensured that baby Harris was delivered into this world safely.

“This is a great story and an example of how varied life as a police officer can be.

“We’re really proud of how both officers managed to keep Harris’ parents calm.

“Well done Sandra and James.

"This will definitely be a story baby Harris’ parents will remember for a long time to come.”
