Work on football icon Wayne Rooney’s £20m Cheshire mansion resumed this week after stopping because of the pandemic

Builders returned to work on Wayne and wife Coleen’s new Cheshire mansion earlier this week after construction came to a halt because of the pandemic.
Work on the estate near Knutsford stopped last month due to concerns around building supply deliveries, as lockdown restrictions came into full force.
The cellar is just one aspect of the entire development, which is situated within 120 acre grounds and was purchased by the couple for £4.2million.
Wayne and Coleen Rooney’s new Cheshire mansion will reportedly be worth £20million
Wayne, 34, is also reportedly planning to build a golf course, with full-length holes, a pitch and putt course and a driving range.
There is already a football pitch and two fishing lakes in the grounds, while the family home will have its own orangery, snooker room with bar, cinema and swimming pool when construction is finished.
Safety precautions are being taken after the family suffered an attempted burglary at their old £6million home in 2016 while he was playing a football match.

The couple reportedly paid a Cheshire property developer more than £4million to build their dream three-storey home, kitted out with state-of-the-art security features and had hoped to move in this month after the end of the football league.
But the pandemic has meant that a date for the final games has yet to be set and construction has fallen behind.
A source close to the footballer claimed the family had not planned to move in ‘for a significant while yet’.
The couple and their four sons Kai, 10, Klay, seven, Kit, four and baby Cass have been staying in a nearby £5million home while the Cheshire mansion is being built.
