The Joe Biden White House transition team has tapped two New York city officials to advise the upcoming administration, according to the president-elect’s website.
Polly Trottenberg, the commissioner of the city Department of Transportation, will be one of more than a dozen volunteers on Biden’s Department of Transportation review team, according to the list of newly appointed advisers.
In the role, Trottenberg, who served in the Obama White House, will work with other members on the team to review the National Transportation Safety Board, the National Railroad Passenger Corporation and the Federal Maritime Commission.
Marisa Lago, the chair of the city Planning Commission, will also work on the White House transition team as a volunteer for the Department of the Treasury.
Lago has served on the Planning Commission since being appointed by de Blasio in 2017, according to the city’s website.
She previously worked in the Obama administration, as well as for previous New York City mayors David Dinkins and Ed Koch.
